Together, we join hands with the Pan African Technical Association (PATA) and all committed members of the MGB Coordinating Committee in advancing the vision to establish a statue of Marcus Garvey at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa—a fitting tribute to a major pillar of Pan-Africanism in the diplomatic capital of Africa.

This historic event is powered by the tireless work of volunteers, organizers, and visionaries—including the dedicated student community at TCU—who embody Garvey’s call, “Up, you mighty Race, accomplish what you will!”

Meet Emebet Aklilu: Head Of Tracks

Emebet Aklilu is a dynamic and visionary leader in the fields of diversity, inclusion, and outreach within healthcare and higher education. She holds a dual master's degree in public health and behavioral health from the University of San Francisco, where she also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Nursing and Health Professions.

As the Director of Operations for the Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach office at the UCSF School of Nursing, Emebet leads with a transformational approach, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. She spearheads strategic initiatives that cultivate equity, inclusion, and belonging across faculty, staff, and student communities. By developing culturally responsive programming, implementing employee engagement strategies, and leveraging data-driven insights, she ensures that diversity and inclusion efforts lead to meaningful, sustainable change.

Emebet is deeply committed to shifting the narrative around racial bias in healthcare. Through cross-functional partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration, she works to dismantle systemic barriers, elevate underrepresented voices, and drive institutional change. Her leadership philosophy centers on empowering others, fostering inclusive decision-making processes, and creating environments where diverse perspectives are valued and thrive.

Meet Feven - TCU’s Study Abroad Program Lead

Feven, a former member of the TCU Bahir Dar University (BDU) Chapter, is leading the charge on our Study Abroad Program. A graduate in Information Technology in 2024, Feven is now playing a key role in opening new pathways for students to access international exposure, and connection.

Reflecting on her journey, Feven shares:

“My experience with TCU at university was nothing short of amazing. It was one of the most active and vibrant clubs on campus, always buzzing with events, discussions, and projects. Through TCU, I got the chance to meet incredible people from different departments that I, otherwise, wouldn't have met and be part of initiatives that aimed to build stronger bonds across borders within the student community. Even after graduation, I’ve stayed involved because the connections and impact don’t just stop at campus gates. If you're looking to be part of a global, purpose-driven community, TCU is absolutely the way to go.”

TCU AAU Chapter Embraces Pan-Africanism Through Community Service

The TCU Addis Ababa University Chapter recently organized a powerful community service program focused on environmental clean-up, community support, and critical dialogue on Pan-Africanism.

This initiative was more than just an act of service; it was a reflection of the values that lie at the heart of True Culture University. The program aimed to not only support the community but also raise awareness about how serving others is a true expression of Pan-African identity and unity.

Through action and conversation, the AAU chapter reminded us all that being Pan-African means giving back, uplifting one another, and building stronger, united communities.

At True Culture University (TCU), we're not just building a network — we’re creating a connection powered by innovation, purpose, and technology. Meet Abrham and Caleb Asnake, the tech talents shaping the digital face of TCU!

🔹 Abrham Belayineh is a full-stack developer with a deep passion for programming and building high-performance web and mobile applications. With a strong background in JavaScript frameworks and backend technologies, he joined True Culture in 2024, bringing not just technical expertise, but also a commitment to meaningful impact. His work has been instrumental in developing the TCU Portal App, ensuring it runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently for all users.

🔹 Caleb Asnake, based in Addis Ababa, is a multi-talented frontend developer, UI/UX designer, AI developer, and graphic designer. A graduate of Mekelle University, Caleb uses tools like React.js, Next.js, and Figma to build modern, user-friendly websites and interfaces. His creative vision and technical skills played a vital role in designing and developing the TCU website, giving the platform a vibrant, intuitive, and professional look.

Together, Abrham and Caleb are blending purpose and programming to bring the TCU vision to life — one line of code at a time.
