🚨 FATAL CRASH | LEHIGH ACRES

One person has died after a haul truck crashed into a body of water at the Bell Mine at 21260 State Road 82 in Lehigh Acres.

Lehigh Acres Fire crews responded to the incident at 11:05 AM Monday morning.

The haul truck appeared to be traveling eastbound along a dirt path adjacent to the water when it traveled off the pathway and into the water.

Initial reports indicate that a worker at the mine noticed the truck submerged in the water and attempted to remove a female victim from inside, but was unsuccessful.

The North Fort Myers Fire Department's Dive Team was dispatched to the scene but later cancelled after crews confirmed that the victim was deceased.

No further information has been made available.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration is conducting a parallel investigation.

An approximately 18-month-old male was found in critical condition after reportedly being found unresponsive in a canal behind a home in the 900 block of Hancock Bridge Pkwy. The baby was transported to Cape Coral Hospital with CPR in progress, and his current condition remains unknown.

🚨 ACTIVE INVESTIGATION | PORT CHARLOTTE

An investigation is underway after multiple people reportedly overdosed at the All-Star Spots Grill at 2360 S Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte.

Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the incident at 3:37 PM Saturday afternoon.

Initial reports indicate that an approximately 50-year-old female began overdosing inside the grill. A nurse began performing CPR on the female prior to deputies' arrival.

When deputies arrived, a male also began overdosing. The male regained consciousness after deputies administered Narcan, a fast-acting medication used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The male was transported to HCA Fawcett Hospital, while the female and an additional male were transported to AdventHealth Port Charlotte. The female was later resuscitated at the hospital.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the overdoses may have been caused by fentanyl use.

No additional information has been made available.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

🚨 FATAL CRASH | NORTH FORT MYERS

A woman has died after a rear-end crash along Del Prado Boulevard N just west of Monte Isola Way in North Fort Myers.

North Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 3:36 PM Friday afternoon.

FHP confirms that a 34-year-old Punta Gorda woman was traveling eastbound in her Hyundai Elantra when she rear-ended a Ford work van that was stopped in traffic.

Post-collision, the sedan traveled off of the roadway into the grass shoulder. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 25-year-old North Fort Myers man who was operating the work van sustained minor injuries.

All lanes of Del Prado Blvd N were blocked for several hours but have since reopened.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

🚨 MURDER-SUICIDE | PORT CHARLOTTE

Two people are dead after a reported murder-suicide at a residence in the 200 block of Rockwood Street NW in Port Charlotte.

Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the incident around 2:35 PM Thursday afternoon.

When deputies arrived, they found a male and female deceased inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds.

Initial reports indicate that both parties were known to each other. CCSO has only confirmed that they are working an active death investigation.

Rockwood St NW is blocked in both directions at this time.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

🚨 OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING | CAPE CORAL

A man has been seriously injured following an officer-involved shooting in the parking lot of City Mattress at 915 NE 15th Place in Cape Coral.

The Cape Coral Police Department confirms that they responded to a reported disturbance at 1421 NE 10th Terrace at approximately 4:45 PM Wednesday afternoon.

Two callers reported seeing a male, later identified as 43-year-old Daniel Colon, forcibly kick in the front door of the home while armed with a gun and a knife. One of the callers reported that they had a familial relationship with Colon.

Colon was later seen walking away from the residence towards NE 15th Place with a fi***rm in his hand.

Several officers responded to the area and began searching for Colon with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff's Office. As they searched near a dumpster enclosure in the parking lot of City Matress, Colon emerged from an adjacent bush while pointing a gun at officers. Two Cape Coral Police Department officers subsequently discharged their fi***rms and shot Colon multiple times.

Colon was quickly detained and transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with serious injuries meeting "Trauma Alert" criteria, where he then underwent surgery.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Colon had made statements during the initial forced-entry incident indicating that he would intentionally engage officers to get shot.

CCPD confirms that no law enforcement officers were injured during the incident, and both involved officers were placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

CCPD confirms that Daniel Colon succumbed to his injuries following the shooting. Additionally, reports indicate that Colon was wielding a BB-gun at the time of the incident. The investigation remains underway.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after the body of a deceased male was found in the wood line just east of 6750 Golden Gate Parkway in Naples.

Deputies responded to the incident at 5:01 PM Monday afternoon.

The body was seen being removed from the area just before 9PM this evening.

One eastbound lane of Golden Gate Parkway is blocked at this time as the investigation continues.

No injuries have been reported after a sedan rolled over and ended up on its roof off the shoulder at the 126 MM of I-75 NB in Fort Myers.

Estero Fire Rescue and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 7:23 PM Monday evening.

Northbound lanes of I-75 are moving slowly in the area of the crash but no lanes are blocked.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
