🚨 FATAL CRASH | PORT CHARLOTTE

A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a pickup truck in the 2000 block of S Tamiami Trail just north of Forrest Nelson Boulevard in Port Charlotte.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the incident at 9:10 PM Tuesday night.

Deputies performed chest compressions on the approximately 30-year-old male motorcyclist before he was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:23 PM.

The approximately 40-year-old pickup truck driver did not sustain injuries.

Two northbound lanes and one southbound lane of US-41 are blocked at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

🚨 STRUCTURE FIRE | FORT MYERS

No injuries have been reported after a large warehouse caught fire at 910 Sunset Vista Drive in Fort Myers.

Iona McGregor Fire, South Trail Fire, Fort Myers Fire, and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 11:30 PM Monday night. Estero Fire responded a few hours later on Monday morning to provide additional assistance to crews on scene.

First-arriving firefighters noted heavy fire conditions showing from the structure. Due to the severity of the flames, crews later transitioned to a defensive attack as they worked to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The scene remains active at this time as firefighters continue overhaul operations.

🚨 SERIOUS CRASH | CAPE CORAL

Four people have been injured, one seriously, after a multi-vehicle crash at Pine Island Road and Del Prado Boulevard N in Cape Coral.

Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 11:14 PM Monday night.

Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that an approximately 44-year-old male sustained serious injuries meeting "Trauma Alert" criteria and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Three other people sustained minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

The roadway has since cleared.

The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating.

🚨 SERIOUS CRASH | FORT MYERS

At least two people have been injured, one seriously, after a three vehicle crash at Winkler Avenue and Province Park Boulevard in Fort Myers.

Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 7:38 PM Monday evening.

Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that one of the drivers, an approximately 29-year-old male, was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained a serious head injury. It was also noted by the EMS crew that they smelled an “odor of alcohol” on him. He was transported as a "Trauma Alert" to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

An additional person involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.

Two eastbound lanes of Winkler Ave are blocked at this time.

The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating.

🚨 FATAL CRASH | CAPE CORAL

A woman has died and a man has been arrested after a crash at Tower Drive and Santa Rosa Court in Cape Coral.

Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 8:53 PM Sunday evening.

The woman, identified as Debra Cooper, was reportedly walking her dog with a flashlight on westbound in the eastbound lane of Tower Dr when she was struck by a white Dodge work van traveling westbound.

Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that the approximately mid-60s woman sustained critical injuries and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center as a "Trauma Alert". She was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:26 PM.

Traffic homicide investigators noted the presence of an open Bud Light can in the center cup holder of the vehicle. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Rodrigo Pereira, also had an odor of alcohol on his breath and was slurring his speech.

Pereira was compliant with Field Sobriety Tests, and based on the investigation, was placed under arrest for DUI. Officers say that Pereira refused to provide a breath sample.

Pereira's license had been suspended for a prior DUI charge on May 4th, 2025. Pereira also did not own the van he was driving and caused around $1500 in damage to the vehicle.

Pereira has since been arrested and charged for Driving under the Influence, DUI Manslaughter, DUI Property Damage, and Driving while License Suspended involving Death or Serious Injury.

🚨 AIRCRAFT CRASH | BUCKINGHAM

An investigation is underway after a gyrocopter crashed into a pond on the north end of the runway at the Buckingham Airfield at 15191 Buckingham Road in Buckingham.

Tice Fire, Lee County Port Authority Crash Fire, and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 11:13 AM Sunday morning.

The pilot and co-pilot were able to safely exit the aircraft and did not sustain injuries.

The gyrocopter's tail number is N107AR.

No further details have been made available.

🚨 HOMICIDE | FORT MYERS

One person has died after a shooting at 714 Duffy Street in Fort Myers.

The Fort Myers Police Department responded to the incident at 9:48 PM Friday night.

Initial reports indicate that the male victim was located at the rear of the home with a gunshot wound to the head and stomach and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect has reportedly been taken into custody.

The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating.

This is a developing story.

🚨 FATAL CRASH | CAPE CORAL

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a pickup truck at Del Prado Boulevard N and NE 10th Terrace in Cape Coral.

Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 6:36 PM Monday evening.

Initial reports indicate that an off-duty CCPD officer arrived on scene immediately following the collision and began chest compressions on the victim.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:45 PM.

CCPD confirms that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it collided with a pickup truck, which was making a left turn onto NE 10th Terrace from Del Prado Blvd N southbound.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The motorcyclist was reportedly wearing a helmet and has been determined to be at fault for the collision.

Northbound lanes of Del Prado Blvd N were previously shut down but have since reopened.

The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating.

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after crashing into the back of a sedan at Palm Beach Boulevard and Charleston Park Drive in Alva.

Alva Fire, Fort Myers Shores Fire, and Lehigh Acres Fire crews responded to the incident at 7:16 PM Saturday evening.

Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that the approximately 48-year-old male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries meeting "Trauma Alert" criteria and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

One lane of Palm Beach Blvd is blocked.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
