This song from Love Song cried out for a Baptism backdrop.

Later this week I'll have some comment and observation in one of my Editors Notes regarding "Missed Opportunities" when it comes to Baptisms and more specifically, Altar Calls - such that they've become; particularly in a modern day world of revival that seems more bent on squelching The Spirit and thereby preventing any meaningful movement of Jesus.

KYMS was all over Dylan's Slow Train Coming album upon his conversion to Christianity in 1979. Not sure if they played "When He Returns," but given the historic events of this week, I am. This isn't Bob, but a great imitator (only because this includes lyrics onscreen worth noting). Along with a question he asked:
Will I ever learn that there'll be no peace, that the war won't cease until he returns?

While maybe not the Musicians of KYMS, it was certainly the Music featured on the station. Chi-Lites lead vocalist, Eugene Record wrote it and sang "There Will Never Be Any Peace (Until God Is Seated At The Conference Table)." On a week like this, Record's record ought never be forgotten, so here he is with The Chi-Lites of course plus The Imperials in another post. Enjoy!

In "The Music of KYMS," this song shows up at 32:11 in Hour 8. The Chi-Lites took this to #8 on the R&B Chart in 1974. This is The Imperials. They covered it in '77 and it couldn't be here on a more fitting week in human history.

I'll have two songs this week to ponder on 'Peace.' This one drives home the refrain that there won't be any, until God is actually sitting down at the conference table.

The song for this weekend is one I'm glad KYMS played in its early years. The jocks knew to put the needle on track 1 of Larry Norman's Only Visiting This Planet L.P.

Many on Youtube post this with lyrics. It's not "You'll be Dead before you're 33." Norman was playing to a hopped-up rock and roll culture of the time. Why don't you look into the enclosed lyric sheet which reads, "You'll be Deaf before you're 33."
