Retro feels on a quiet corner of Aoshima, a cute little coastal town not too far from Miyazaki. We were only passing by while on a project shoot but we’ve completely fallen in love with the area and it’s laid back vibes.

Forever grateful to clients and shoot opportunities that have sent us across Japan to some of the more off-beaten areas of the country. We could spend a life travelling around Japan and never feel like we’ve had enough. 🇯🇵

She said yes 💍

When I decided to pop the question, there was only ever going to be one place it was going to happen - our absolute favourite country in the world, Japan!

We’ve always marched to the beat of our own drum and after 13 years together the timing just felt right to turn to the next chapter in our relationship.

And we couldn’t have asked for a more special setting to get engaged - a once temple turned Ryokan featuring the world’s first treehouse house onsen. We’re going to spend a little more time enjoying life as a newly engaged couple but lots more to share from our stay at this stunning property very soon!

Happy New Year! 🥳 2024 has been a year with lots of changes to our lives. We’re still very much in the weeds of adapting to this new so we’ve unfortunately had a lot less time heading out to explore with our cameras and just generally posting here on Instagram - hopefully as we settle back into a rhythm we’ll be able to create some new photos and videos which we can share. Wakayama and Mie are two often overlooked prefectures of the Kansai, Japan but together they offer some of the most beautiful scenes we’ve come across in the whole country 🇯🇵

Been helping the family with a few recommendations for their upcoming Tokyo trip and it was brought to our attention we’ve never done a proper guide to Tokyo - places to see, places to eat, photo spots and general info to travelling the city…what do you think, is it about time we do one?

Yame is one of the lesser explored areas of Fukuoka prefecture but if you’re a matcha lover 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️it’s well worth making the trip here as you’ll find some of Japan’s finest tea leaves and stunning views over the farms 🍃

If you could only pick one, would you choose a matcha Frappuccino or matcha ice cream 🍵

We’re heading back to Hong Kong to hunt down the city’s most delicious dim sum spots and attend a pretty unique festival that involves participants climbing a tower of buns…it’s going to be a fun month 🙌

The most magical tunnel of sakura trees in Toyama 🌸 The Asahi Funagawa Spring Quartet festival returns for April 1-14 for 2024. There you’ll find cherry blossoms alongside tulips with the backdrop of snow capped mountains - is this what they call a “picture perfect scene”?

Japan is pretty in pink 🌸

Sakura season will be in full bloom in just a couple of weeks, transforming the whole country into a sea of pink. Full bloom typically only lasts a few days before it begins to fall so be sure to catch them while they last!

Can’t make it for this year’s bloom but heres a few photos we’ve captured from previous seasons around Japan. Have you been to Japan for Sakura season? 🇯🇵
