Tourism is Kentuckys fastest growing industry and A Mewz in the Mountains is conducting a survey of independant Kentucky artists to better serve them. The information will be used to promote and support local artists. The data will be useful when applying for grants, scouting resources, and insures that your voice is counted when decisions are made at local and state levels that may impact you as an artists; such as tax laws and fair treatment and promotion of local and under respresented artists in Kentucky. A Mewz in the Mountains is hosting its first annual Festival of the Mewz. A Mewz in the Mountains LLC is an East Kentucky based advertising agency with twenty years experience in newsprint, film, and radio. Our mission is to provide big advertising on small budgets because we believe that small business and local artists are what makes our communities great.

Mewz is an ad agency that uses our knowledge of advertising to help businesses and artists grow by connecting them. Your advertising dollars go back into your communities by allowing us to host free live community events, produce a podcast that keeps people informed about important community art issues and small business, and projects like Art Box, providing artistic materials to children in low income areas.

A study by the Brooking Institute found that an increase in arts has a "remarkable" impact on a young person's academic, social and emotional outcomes. Mewz is produced by Crystal Jones and Cohosted by Josh Deaton, both native to East Kentucky, among our nation's poorest counties. Mewz was created to give local artists what we didn't have, resources and connections.
