Bantwanas

Bantwanas It is an ensemble that weaves narrative, music, and performance into a mystical showcase.

Bantwanas, meaning children of Africa, is a collective of producers, songwriters, and musicians collaborating to showcase quality African House music to the world. Ryan Murgatroyd's re-emergence on the scene as a solo artist in 2013 began with the release of Bantwana’s Piano, which was signed to Tenth Circle and licensed to 4 Defected compilations. After receiving huge support from numerous major

artists internationally, he later signed onto Get Physical Music with his Ikalimba EP which proved to be a favourite track of Solomun's, featuring on his recent charts. Drawing on their previous synergy as Crazy White Boy, Ryan and Kostakis have collaborated subsequently, incorporating Murg's young protégé Blanka Mazimela, creating a very African influence resulting in a sound which is easily accessible to a global market. Bantwanas - Children of Africa, invites you to grasp your roots, dance like Africans, enjoy the big drums and melodies, in our one of a kind showcase of African electronic Music.

Sometimes, stepping away helps you remember why you started.

And for us, it’s always been about the music — the message, the moments, and the connection it brings.

There’s music you haven’t heard yet.
There are stages we haven’t stood on.
There’s still work to be done.

This is not about chasing the moment.
It’s about building something that lasts.

We’ve been through the fire, but we’ve come out with something deeper— a sound sharpened by struggle, a bond rebuilt on purpose.

Each of us carries the hopes and dreams of those we’ve left behind—our families, our villages, and the places that shaped us. Bantwanas isn’t just about making music; it’s about sharing our culture, telling our stories, and staying true to who we are. To everyone around the world who’s listened to and supported our music, we want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
