Notice of Shift/Postponement of All Examinations of 9th May, 2025.

I write as directed to inform both staff and students of the decision by Management to shift all the examinations due to be taken on Friday, 9th May, 2025 to Wednesday, 21st May, 2025.

This is to enable both staff and students to attend the burial of the Admission Officer of the Institution, Late Japhet Tersugh Gev, which is scheduled to take place on the same day.

By this notice, all the examinations scheduled to hold on Friday, 9th May, 2025 are shifted and will be taken on Wednesday, 21st May, 2025.

All the staff and students concerned should take note.

The Co-Founder and Cultural Ambassador of Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko, Benue State, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Dorathy Mato extends her deepest condolences to the family of Gev, Fidei Polytechnic and others over the demise of Japheth Tersugh Gev.

Mato eulogized late Japheth as one of the extremely resourceful staff of the Polytechnic who was honest and dedicated to his responsibilities.

"Japheth as a staff in the Development of Mass Communication and the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic managed the image of the institution excellently and was always punctual in his responsibilities.

"He was redeployed from Public Relations Unit to Admissions Unit where he became the Polytechnic's Admissions Officer, and throughout the years he served before his demise, he set commendable and memorable records in students' enrollments, effective activities of the Polytechnic and created a smooth working relationship with Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and National Board For Technical Education (NBTE) that made the Polytechnic to operate effectively inline with the guidelines.

"I had a personal relationship with Japheth, his wife and family. He was such a humble and caring person who would go out of his way to put smiles on the faces of others. His family, Fidei Polytechnic, students, friends, associates and I will dearly miss him.

"May God grant his soul enternal rest and console his family, Fidei Polytechnic, students, friends and associates for this irreplaceable loss through Christ our Lord," she said.

BISHOP KUKAH GETS FEDERAL APPOINTMENT.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS BISHOP KUKAH AS PRO-CHANCELLOR OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES, KACHIA

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State.

Additionally, the President appointed principal officers for the university, including Prof. Qurix Williams Barnabas as Vice Chancellor, Sanusi Gambo Adamu as Registrar, Ibrahim Dalhat as bursar, and Prof. Daniel Abubakar as university Librarian.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Mr Thomas Etuh, representing the North Central, Chief Fabian Nwaora (South East), Prof Femi Taiwo (South West) and Zarah Bukar (North East). as members of the university's Governing Council.

All the appointees were carefully selected based on their distinguished careers, leadership experience, and dedication to advancing education in Nigeria.

President Tinubu implored them to use their collective expertise to position the university as a hub for academic excellence and research, aligning with the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu urged the newly appointed officers to provide visionary leadership and lay a solid foundation for the university's growth as it prepares to admit its first cohort of students in September 2025.

The Federal University of Applied Sciences was formerly known as Nok University. It was renamed following the federal government's takeover of its assets.

LATE FR UTOV'S REMEMERANCE - Legacies to be sustained

Late Very Rev Fr Dr Christopher Utov, (1955-2017) a Catholic priest, pioneer healing priest in the old Makurdi diocese, philanthropist, peace maker and educationist marks Eight years in the great beyond this March 17th, 2025.

Late Fr Christopher Ierwua Utov, founder of Fidei Polytechnic, GBOKO, the first private Polytechnic in Northern Nigeria was also the President of Fidei Corporate Institute.

The 8th memorial service for the late priest organised by Fidei Polytechnic was held early today at the St Francis of Assisi Chaplaincy of the institution.

In his message during the memorial mass, the polytechnic's Chaplain, Rev Fr. Barr.Isaiah Ter positioned that, late Fr Utov was a true and humble servant of God, whose humane and peaceful lifestyle remained steadfast.

Apart from the task of healing the sick, he developed the society through schools, particularly Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko, a legacy that has impacted people within and outside the country.

He called for the sustenance of the legacy by all stakeholders involved, while also appealing for increased development at the polytechnic's girls hostel and utilities within the host community that accommodate students.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Aper Igbadio in his remarks extolled the resilience of the Chaplain over the years. Pointing that, Fr Isaiah has impacted both staff and students not only spiritually but in various ways.

The rector spoke on legacies' sustence with appeal to all stakeholders in the polytechnic to uphold the founder's vision.
The students, he charged against cultism and Yahoo in the institution.
Dr Igbadio commended many others for imense services rendered for geometric transformation in the school and called on the top leadership of the institution with the board inclusive to consider an Award of Excellence to the Chaplain for good stewardship as well as Management of the school.
