Human Description - Nomad
The average natural human lifespan is 85 earth years (EY). Human medical research has long focused on increasing longevity, and with pharmacological aid it is possible for a human to live greater than 500 EY. The average human adult is between 1.6m and 1.8m tall and weighs 60-85kg. Males tend to be taller and heavier than females. Humans prefer temperatures ranging from 20-25c. They can survive temperatures well above this range, up to 40c without much difficulty, but they struggle at lower temperatures without protective clothing.
Humans are largely interdependent and tend to prefer living within a community then on their own. They are exceptionally curious, compared to the other space faring races, and value exploration and discovery above all else. Despite their interdependent nature, human communities tend to prefer independence from any higher authority.
Earth, the human home world, is positioned at the center of the sector. The ESE is at its most stable here. It was this fact that led the humans to fully develop the technology needed for safe travel through the ESE. Once human explorers began making contact with the other sentient species in the sector, this technology spread quickly.
During the first Human expansion, many Human colonies were established on newly discovered worlds to serve as outposts for further exploration. While these colonies did attract settlers, the focus of these early extra-solar Human endeavors was primarily exploration and research. When the Period of Instability began just 37 EY later, all communication and travel was severed between Earth and the colonies.
