Caution - Beware:

Keeping your mouth shut and your head low can avoid stress.

But keeping your mouth shut at times can also promote being silenced.

Being against everything can make one a bitter person.

Yet, being for the wrong things and not knowing why, or because someone told you so, can make you a puppet and a parrot.

Not taking the time to verify facts, like Joe Friday from the old TV series Dragnet (maybe dated for some), who said 'Just the facts, ma'am,' can help in knowing what you are talking about.

Do you check the facts? Repeating supposed facts espoused by someone else, if wrong, makes one complicit in spreading fake news.

Finally, take caution with all of the aforementioned, as they are the opinions of an old man who claims to be the 'Man in the Middle.'

I heard about him..

THE ART OF WORKING IN HARMONY:

Watching the Earth, Wind and Fire Grammy's Salute tonight.

What an amazing group that had such a profound impact on decades of people of all ages, colors, and genders.

They not only enjoyed working with each other, but their art also provided enjoyment to millions with their lyrics and blend of instrumentation.

EWF didn’t need to do anything but make our lives better.

The message here is that contributing to this world can be done in many ways.

EWF showed us what can happen when you aspire to work together.

EWF, you made beautiful things happen for all of us; thank you!

If EWF had an impact on you, like this post and name your favorite songs!

My turn:

No matter where I turn it is hard to find hope and I witness others facing the same situation.

A fear is mounting that one's posts are being questioned, maybe even monitored.

I wish no one ill or harm and I am aware most people do not foster a world full of hate.

Yet, we are all surrounded by a world full of hate. I know it is difficult to rise above the frey.

Many times, people just hold it all in and try to make it go away.

I wish I knew how to do that successfully. But, I have always been a 'Type A'.

I have tried to control it under many doctors orders as it sets off my AFIB.

Challenging others political, religious or mores is not my style.

I try to live and let live. Yes, there are times that I am tempted to throw the remote at the TV, but turning it off seems to be a much more prudent alternative.

Equally, there are times that I want to fire off a scathing post in response to a post that highly irrated me.

But, who am I to challenge the right of someone who is hell bent on spreading hate.

After all, I do not need to stoop to their levels and say something like 'stupid goes to the bone'. I hold it all inside the best I can.

I try to be a 'Political Agnostic' and an objective political scientist, but, I at times I just need to go into political hibernation; the bears do a better job that I do.

I really take it personally when family, friends etc 'ghost me' when they expect me to blindly support their political or religious values and mores. I lost one very valued friend an hour ago, and it hurts.

We do not have to be enemies at all.

People used to say to never talk about politics or religion, maybe they were right!

But politics and religion didn't used to be so forcefully infused into our lives.

I say to my friends, readers and followers; I am flawed and it is OK if you are too.

We are all human and are filled with emotions.

Unlike many other animals, this is why we're at the top of the foodchain; although we often do not act as the custodial leaders of life on this earth.

I finish this post by encouraging others to also share their own challenges and equally, how they are navigating these troubled waters.

All the best, we will all survive,

Jim (friend to many)

CHANGE IS IN THE AIR:

Breath in new air, open your eyes, the world is changing as the equinox arrived and autumn has ushered in an environmental season of vivid colors.

We have all survived almost 10 months of 2025.

The breathing of new air filled your lungs with new hope; we have come to understand what the challenges are and how to navigate the changes in the new mores.

Change is not new, this Nation has adjusted to new approaches before and survived.

Reach high, stay positive, validate what you hear and keep moving forward.

I AM SENIOR CITIZEN OF ALMOST 75.

All this hate, zero tolerance, divisiveness and name calling has got to stop!

It only enpowers crazy people to do terrible things.

We do not need to be mean to one another because it leads to kids not having a father, like today.

Steve Putney and I did a radio show called the Men in the Middle for years. We respected each other and were both pragmatic. We were not red or blue, we were in the middle and could agree or disagree, but we were never disagreeable.

I am tired of hearing red or blue, maga or liberal. We are red, white and blue; AMERICANS.

I am old enough to remember when we were a proud NATION OF SHARED VALUES!

We are now a geograhical country where States are looked at as good or bad.

Remember when we were the United States of America?

No more political murders!

Rise above all the political thunder, please, we are better than the noise and rethoric.

Just one ole man scolding all of us...

Your grandkids will lead our society to hope and greatness:

The Zillennials, an amalgamation of the trailing edge of the Millennials and the cutting edge of Gen Z.

They have an understanding of how to manage stress and adversity.

Over 65% of them survived their parents' divorces, loss of jobs, 9/11, Covid, bitter elections, and many other things.

During their childhoods, they moved and changed schools, churches, and many homes.

They experienced their parents' bankruptcies, witnessed the death of family members and friends due to drugs, violence, stress and of course natural causes.

All of this could produce PTSD, yet the Zillennials are fostering hope and already rallying to right what their parents, the Gen Xers, and their grandparents, the Boomers, messed up.

They're not buying into the concept that 'greed is good'; they are fiscally conservative and averse to debt.

Socially, they are pragmatic and avoid judging others.

Politically, they are largely purple and are more concerned about governing starting at the local levels, then state, and lastly at the federal level.

Many are entrepreneurially motivated. They have certificates certifying their skills and understanding or seek a college education.

Almost all have a strong understanding of technology.

Yet, they are worldly in their viewpoints and do not see borders; the world is their neighbor.

Lastly, when they select a life partner, they take it seriously. If they produce children, parenting becomes their priority.

The American Dream and hope is in their heart, but so is tolerance, responsibility, respect for one another, the earth, and a whole lot of other things.

They are ready to carry the torch and are beckoning others to join them.

I close by saying the proverbial... they 'have their heads screwed on right'.

I have spent over 15 years researching the Zillennials and have completed four conjoined novels with the help of my wonderful editor, Patricia Feldman.

The Zillennials' journeys from 2013 through 2034 is a story of realignment and needs to be shared.

We are in the process of trying to get them published so we can chronicle the growth of this group internationally as they make this tiny marbe,l in the universe, a better place for all.

Our's is to tell their story free of our current political and religious biases and we set out to to just that. Amen.

HOWDY NEIGHBOR:

Red, white and blue, and all the other colors too. That is us (US).

We the people come in all shapes and hair colors too; amazing, isn't it!

There are many ideological, religious, and ethnic traditions practiced here in America.

We are free to have our different beliefs here. Wow!

There are a whole lot of great folks found between our shining seas and underneath our purple mountains' majesties.

This is Labor Day weekend how about recognizing all the hardworking people of what we call these geographical and cultural United States of America.

Neighbor, smile at one another, shake hands, maybe hug, and celebrate the fruits of our labor.

NICE TO BE YOUR NEIGHBOR!

Just the facts, nothing but the facts, because let's face it, the truth is stranger than fiction, especially in this wild world of fake news and internet chaos.

Trying to separate fact from fiction is like searching for a needle in a haystack, but with more memes. AI and other tech wizardry can make the unbelievable seem totally legit, so don't believe everything you see online, folks.

First, trust your gut and use some good old-fashioned common sense.

Next, do some digging on the internet, but steer clear of those crazy political commentary sections.

Seek out people with different perspectives, because if you only talk to people who agree with you, you'll just end up in an echo chamber of confirmation bias.

And remember, just because someone says something with confidence doesn't mean it's true, so seek validation from people who actually know what they're talking about.

Regardless of your political leanings, may our Nation see success, peace, solice, prosperity and the means to be that guiding light on the hill.

We are a single Nation for all.

Amen.

A vote for the next four year term can have impact on the next two generations beyond Gen Alpha.

Translation....beyond 2050.

How important is that to you?

On Saturday I will complete my 74th revolution of the Sun.

Time sure flies especially when one thinks about starting the 75th revolution, 3/4 of a century.

Many of my peers and loved ones never saw this benchmark.

But, without family, friends, classmates, colleagues; this ride would not have ever made my life what it turned out to be.

I accept the highs, lows and the in betweens.

But without you all, it would not have been the experience it has been.

So, thank you for reading my silly, sad, funny, sometimes dumb, philosophical and hopefully non partisan posts.
