As we approach Hmong Minnesota Day, we take a moment to honor and remember our beloved friend and the visionary founder of this celebration, Tou Ger Xiong. While it is with heartfelt sadness that we celebrate this occasion without him, we carry his spirit with us as we mark the 10th anniversary of Hmong Minnesota Day. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and the unwavering dedication with which he championed our community.

Tou Ger had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued whether through his comedy, rap, motivational speaking, or the stories he so passionately told. But beyond the stage, his greatest impact came from shining a light on the experiences and challenges of marginalized and excluded communities. His voice was a source of strength and joy.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Tou Ger’s family for their continued support of Hmong Minnesota Day. As we remember him and the impact he made, we invite you to help carry forward the legacy he left behind. Please consider visiting the Tou Ger Xiong Endowment Fund to make a donation in his honor: https://gohmongboy.com/

It’s that time of year again when we are called home, both in body and spirit, to celebrate all of our achievements with our families and give thanks to our ancestors for a year of abundance. 🐓🥚

As we welcome the new year, may we embrace fresh beginnings and continue to thrive, even in the face of adversity.

Happy New Year / Nyob Zoo Xyoo Tshiab!
