UPDATE ON WOLF
I tend to ramble on, so I’ll try to make this as concise as possible.
This project has been in motion for over a decade now. If you’re still here, THANK YOU. Over these years, technology has changed and advanced for the better. Ipads were not available when this started, for example. Now almost everybody has one. Art is more accessible than ever.
A few years ago, we decided there were some things that we wanted to change about the movie itself. Nothing bad or offensive or anything like that! Just a few tweaks to make it more accurate to real wolves. One thing led to another and… we decided to basically start over.
HEAR ME OUT. These changes mean a tighter, better story, better animation, cleaner character designs, and better voice work. If you’re curious, go back and look at our original video we posted of Scene 2 on our Youtube channel (https://youtu.be/b7A_hBiLtDQ). This was 14 YEARS AGO. Of course it’s still amazing, but we know we can do better than this.
2019-2022 were some rough years for everybody, staff here included. And given the state of the world, we didn’t get to implement these changes to the project as quickly as we would have liked. We also had some director changes. All of this is why it has taken so long to make this post, and why everyone thinks the project is abandoned or dead.
A few things:
- The characters you know and love are the same! They will just have slightly simpler designs to make animation easier for everybody.
- The overall story is the same, but the plot is tighter and more refined.
- We are still 100% volunteer
- At the moment, the goal is still to make a full-length movie.
- Everyone who has been involved with the project in any way/shape/form will still be credited. Your hard work has NOT BEEN WASTED and your animation/ref sheets/voice work will be preserved.
I understand that this is a bit jarring, but understand that this is not a decision we made overnight. It was given careful thought and talked over with the current staff members. We are all sure that this is the best possible move for the project, and hope that you will continue to support us as you always have.
