A once-busy control room where every screen, button, and diagram kept an entire steelworks alive. Now the monitors are dark, the chairs empty, and the boards still show the last processes ever run here.

Time stopped in this room… and everything was left exactly as it was.

Nature took back the blast furnace.
Deep inside this massive steel complex, the central blast furnace has been abandoned for many years. Where molten iron once poured at thousands of degrees, trees, bushes and moss now grow across the old workfloor. The place where workers once stood has turned into a small forest surrounded by rusting pipes, broken cast floors and collapsing steel beams.

The structure creaks, the metal is peeling and it feels like stepping into a forgotten world.

Next week’s episode takes you deep inside one of Europe’s abandoned blast furnaces.

A place where molten iron once flowed day and night now sits frozen in silence.
From the massive bustle pipes to the control room that looks like it was left in a hurry, this forgotten steel giant is a raw reminder of a disappearing industrial world.
The full exploration drops next week on YouTube.
Stay tuned.

A look inside the old blower house of the blast furnace.
These massive “soufflantes” once fed the furnace with high-pressure air, powering the entire steelmaking process. Rows of compressors, worn control panels, and a hall built like a cathedral of industry.

Nothing moves here anymore, yet the scale still feels overwhelming.

Between the pipes, cables and cooling lines, this blast furnace feels like a frozen machine heart.
Every valve, every tuyere, every rust-covered surface shows how massive and complex steelmaking really was. Walking here feels like stepping inside a mechanical beast that suddenly went silent.

In the steel valley of Lorraine stands a huge abandoned office once owned by the powerful De Wendel family.
A place that once shaped the entire region now sits in silence. The skylight halls, the cracked staircases and the endless corridors all feel frozen in time, as if the steel empire simply walked away.

The full exploration is now live on YouTube.

Built for the Wendel steel company at the height of its power, this hall was designed to impress.

A skylit atrium showing what steel could do in architecture.
Today it stands abandoned, the last witness of a vanished industry in the Fensch valley.

In the suburbs of Charleroi remains a massive abandoned hospital.
Once filled with life, now completely silent. From the empty operating rooms to the untouched control panels everything was left as if time just stopped

Inside the mortuary of this recently abandoned hospital, several notes are still attached to the doors. Most of them date from the Covid-19 period, warning staff about hygiene procedures and body handling during the pandemic. It’s strange to see these reminders still hanging here, untouched since the hospital closed.
