Springtime is prep time for the next big game season. Stay tuned for our veterans hunts, as we speak to our warriors about how the outdoors brings healing to them.

This is a little older photo but it means a lot to me.
Airborne Ranger, forward observer, buddy, friend and brother to me. Sgt William Naney on a veteran hunt on a donated tag with Patriot Pines Outdoors.
William and I shared a lot of laughs and some moments that let’s just say didn’t make the first Sgt too happy. William was wounded in action in Afghanistan serving this nation. He signed the line and almost paid the whole bill. Fortunately he is still with us and I’m personally grateful.
Like all of our wounded and disabled veterans, Sgt. Naney has walked the journey to healing both physically and spiritually. It’s the warriors path, the trail of honor. Taking on the challenges of the outdoors has helped to heal and reforge him.
To my brother William, you know you are always welcome at my fire. I am happy you’re here today. Thank you for all you have sacrificed.

The first letters to veterans organizations went out today. I didn’t expect the response I got almost immediately from many of them! Thank you all and I cannot wait to work with you all to highlight our veterans, their stories and how you help them heal.

Veterans like David here that have been wounded in action are on a journey of restoration and reforging that assures them they are intact, resilient, and capable of facing every obstacle. David connected on a bull elk at 8000 foot elevation and 10 degrees. One day soon we will sit with david and talk about his trail and how it’s helped him heal.

Many of you may be wondering what this is about. I am a veteran, I am an avid outdoorsman and I am an orator, A story teller. I love to tell good stories. I think it is one of the reasons I became a hunting guide. I love to hear the stories of people from around the country. Who they are, about their families, their work. All of it is so interesting.
I have many friends who I served with that have been injured or wounded in the service of this nation and our citizens. I have been blessed to take some of them on hunting trips. I noticed during these trips that the brotherhood we shared in uniform was the same in the field andI realized they were healing in a way that I knew healed me from my scars and pain. I knew I was someone they could talk and laugh with and yes even shed tears with on those trips. But it occurred to me that all of this, even the tears, was a process, a trail if you will. I knew that the challenges of the outdoors was reforging them and me.
If you have taken the time to read this I thank you so much. Bear with me as I build this from the ground up. It will take some time and my end goal with all of this will be huge. There are around 250 organizations nationwide that have programs involving our wounded warriors and the outdoors. Several of them right here in Arizona. Give them a look sometime.
Again Thank you for following this, watch for updates and hopefully big news in the not too distant future.

"Every trail has a story, every story deserves to be told."

🔥 Welcome to Trails of Honor Reforged 🔥

I’m James "JD" Pepper, and I’m launching a new outdoor series with one mission:

To tell the stories of America's service members who have sacrificed everything, to give them a face, to honor them through their journey on the trail of healing and brotherhood and to make it known they are human beings not just an empty uniform.

Through powerful wilderness journeys, we highlight the strength, grit, and courage of America’s injured veterans — capturing their stories as they reclaim purpose in the great outdoors.

This isn’t just a show.
It’s a tribute.
It’s healing through adventure.
It’s honoring those who gave everything.

TOH Reforged will be showing unforgettable experiences, forge new paths of hope, and shine a spotlight on the heroes who should never be forgotten as well as the organizations around the nation that support these heroes.

Welcome to the trail.
Honor starts here.
