Established in 1995, Thule has become synonymous with dub-influenced minimal techno, carving out its place as a leader in the Icelandic music scene. Known for its unique blend of deep, minimalistic, and atmospheric beats, Thule continues to inspire listeners worldwide.
Headlining the night is Thule’s founding father, **Thor**, a true pioneer of minimal techno. He will be joined by fellow Thule artists **Waage** and **Orazio Rispo**, delivering an immersive journey into the label’s signature sound.

We've got some questions about the name of the label. We've run this label under this name since 1995 and we haven't really had these question before - but we've gotten them quite a lot lately. It seems that recently a lot of people associate the name "Thule" with far-right organizations and activity. I think we can safely say that we are complete opposite of that.

You can read about the origin of the word in Wikipedia, but in short it's a name that in Late middle ages was believed to be Iceland. Greek explorer Pytheos wrote about it between 330-320 BC. Recent interpretation believe it might be islands in Estonia or Norway. It was also used as a metaphor for a place on the borders of the known world (and that's where we come in).<

When the label was started, we were certainly on the borders of the known world in music - especially in our homeland. It didn't fit on the scale of what was usually being "normal music". It was minimal, quirky and weird.

Thule is a place on the borders of the known world.

And if you ask us what we think about NeoNazis and ultra far-right organization that preach bigotry and hate, then the answer is: "They can sincerely go f**k themselves".

Here's the last of the Thule Records takeover at the Yoyaku Record Store & Distribution last November in Paris.

Enjoy a live set by Octal Industries. Known for his distinctive blend of atmospheric textures and pulsating rhythms, Octal Industries takes us on a sonic journey through the realms of dub techno. He also has a smiley on his yellow cap, so you know he's friendly.

I´m happy to share with you guys my "Instore Session” I did last November for the most amazing record shop in Paris Yoyaku

For this set I decided to only play Icelandic techno tracks (See track list below )

The sessions is part of 3 sets made by OHM, Octal Industries and me we did this same evening and we already have the set by OHM out there in the cosmos and Octal Industries set will shortly follow. ( Stay tuned )

I´m very grateful for the opportunity Yoyaku gave me here and I give my shout out to Roxane Yoyaku , Benjamin Belaga , Frederic Hauguel , Sebastien Belguiseies, OHM and Octal Industries for making this happen.

On the 24th of November last year we were invited by Yoyaku Record Store & Distribution for an in-store session.

There will be DJ set by THOR (Official) and a live set by Octal Industries coming up in the coming weeks - but the first DJ set is out and It's by the dub techno force majeure OHM!
