𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗦 𝗫 𝟯
The Kingfisher girls finished eighth in the Class 4A state cross country meet Saturday morning at North Rock Creek High School in Shawnee. The ladies are coming home with some hardware…again. The Lady Jackets are the 2025 academic state champions for Class 4A. It’s their third straight year to win the honor.

Fans lined the street as the Kingfisher High School girls cross country got the special es**rt out of town. The Lady Jackets compete Saturday morning in the Class 4A state cross country meet.

𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥
UPDATE: The highway has opened back up as of 11:20 a.m., but is currently limited to one lane in each direction.

Heavy rains Friday morning have caused flash flooding on U.S. Highway 81 in Kingfisher, forcing a temporary detour on the north end of town. More than 2 inches of rain have poured down in the last two hours.

Kingfisher didn't get a Thursday game on Fall Break, but Mother Nature delivered on this week. The Jackets host North Rock Creek on Senior Night and it's the first of a big three-game stretch that can see KHS earn a home playoff game or miss the postseason altogether. Senior Night introductions will be aired at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Join us if you can't be there.

In anticipation of potential bad weather on Friday, Kingfisher and North Rock Creek will now play Thursday. Senior Night festivities start at 6:30 pm and kickoff is 7 pm.

𝗦𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗟𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘
Dover finally got official word this morning that freshman Nick Spradlin is a Class A cross country state qualifier. The Dover boys placed sixth as a team Saturday at a regional in Enid. Only the top 5 teams advance to state from each regional. Dover missed out by 5 points but Spradlin was 25th individually. The top 12 individuals from non-qualifying teams also move on and he was among that group.

𝗞𝗛𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for September 2025.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Camila Jimenez, sophomore Kendall Farrar, junior Maya Haney and senior Cale Reagan.
Jimenez is the daughter of Pedro Jimenez and Cande Jimenez.
She is active in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Farrar is the daughter of Josh and Mellissa Farrar and Jerod and Keri Johnston.
She has been listed on both the Superintendent’s and Principal’s honor rolls and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.
Farrar is a member of the KHS girls softball team. In 2024, she was named All-District honorable mention and was also named to the VYPE Magazine Players of the Month list.
She was recently named to the District 4A-3 first team as an outfielder for 2025.
Farrar also plays basketball for the Lady Jackets and is active in her church.
Haney is the daughter of Tyrone Reece and Michael and Julie Swisher.
She is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, has received the 4.0 Award and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Haney is active in Student Council and is currently serving as the junior class vice president.
She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Haney is a member of the KHS girls cross country team and also plays soccer for the Lady Jackets, where she has earned all-district honors for two years.
Reagan is the son of Jason and Carma Reagan.
He is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.
Reagan is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Council.
He plays football for KHS and currently serves as a team captain and was selected 2025 homecoming king.
Reagan is also a member of the KHS boys golf team and is active in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗡'
The Kingfisher County Exhibit Building was filled with great music, great food and some great dancing last Saturday night as The Chisholm and Kingfisher County 4-H hosted a “Barn Dance.” Working chuck wagons provided a chicken fried steak dinner and guests were treated to the sounds of Mackynsie McKedy. Here are some scenes from the evening captured by our Cati Farrar.
