Work to replace Hennessey sidewalks continued Thursday afternoon by a Daniel Construction crew on the south side of Oklahoma Avenue between Main and Cherokee streets. The slope on that side of the street was too deep, causing accessibility issues, especially at The Hive. Ramps are to be installed at the east and west end of the alleyway between The Hive and Prairie Quilt to meet ADA compliance. Town trustees accepted Danielโ€™s low bid of $19,800 from the three bids submitted at their May meeting. The next meeting of the town board is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Town Hall.

On July 30, 2025, God, in His infinite love and mercy, said, "Let's stop the pain and the hurting and give My daughter peace."
And so, He called Servrina Marie Prim home to eternal rest.
Servrina was born on June 20, 1971, in Flint, Mich., to William and Jacqueline Thornton. The youngest of four children, she was immediately recognized as a divine gift, a radiant, left-handed Queen, uniquely anointed and deeply loved.๏ฟฝHer early years were spent in Flint before the family relocated to California. There, she began her elementary education and developed a love for music.
In 1982, the Thornton family moved again, this time to Oklahoma, where Servrina graduated from Edmond Memorial High School. During her high school years, she developed a love for music and the arts and flourished as a member of the marching band, jazz band, orchestra (playing bass clarinet) and dance team.
After graduation, Servrina was awarded a scholarship to attend Oral Roberts University, where she pursued a degree in music and played in the university orchestra. Inspired by both her artistic talents and entrepreneurial spirit, she later pursued and obtained her barber and cosmetology licenses.
This decision would enable her to positively impact many lives through her skills, creativity and compassionate presence. Despite experiencing the trauma of sexual assault while attending Oral Roberts University, Servrina turned her pain into purpose.
She became a passionate advocate for survivors, even being invited by Bob Stoops to speak at the University of Oklahoma on the subjects of r**e and sexual assault, using her voice to educate, empower and inspire others.
Servrina accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. In a meaningful and personal moment later in life, she was baptized again on June 29, 2025, by her husband Wendell Prim, Sr.
She loved the Lord and loved to sing. She was an active member of several ministries and while attending Liberty Church, she received a prophetic word that she would marry a minister and do great things for the Lord.
That prophecy was fulfilled when, on a beautiful January day, Servrina met the man who would become her husband. Ten months later, on Oct. 3, 1992, she married Wendell Ray Prim, who later became the visionary leader who established God's Covenant Church.
From their loving union came three beautiful children: Jacqueline Marie, Ashlie Nicole and Wendell Ray Jr.
A gifted entrepreneur, Servrina opened and operated her own beauty/barber and tanning salon. Beyond her business success, she was devoted to empowering youth and families through various community initiatives.
โ€œMake it Stop,โ€ โ€œ Seeing Yourself Being Yourselfโ€ and โ€œStomp Teamโ€ were just some of the organizations that she started. She worked as an abstinence advocate, case manager and tutor in multiple programs and grants, including, SAVE IT, SAVE PLUS After School, and SAVE PLUS Supplemental Reading and Math.
Despite her health challenges, Servrina never stopped giving. After being diagnosed with lupus, she became a powerful advocate for those living with autoimmune diseases.
She organized lupus awareness walks, participated in local and statewide initiatives and encouraged others to speak up and seek support. Her voice became a beacon of hope for many suffering in silence.
Her final professional pursuit was advocating for the recognition of Dr. John A. Reed, Jr., a distinguished Christian civic leader born in Kingfisher, for his contributions to the state and community.๏ฟฝServrina was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-love, Ervin and Rose Prim; sisters-in-love Lenora Gracey, Darlene Taylor, Doris Johnson and Carlene Johnson; grandparents David and Bernice Lott, Rebecca and Lucious Carter; and her Godparents, James and Orine Peoples.
Servrina's legacy is one of faith, strength, service and love.
She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew her: Wendell Prim, Sr., her devoted husband of 32 years; her children, Jacqueline Marie (Nick), Ashlie and Wendell Jr.; her beloved grandchildren, Tylar, Ashton, Ace, Gabriel, Christian, McKenzie and Noah; her parents, William and Jacqueline Thornton; siblings, Jeron Thornton of Oklahoma City, Sonya (Joey) Roberts of Columbus, Ga., and Sharra Ervin of Oklahoma City.
Servrina leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, her loving church family and a special lifelong friend, Savetri Ard.
Servrina Marie Prim was a woman of grace, purpose and enduring faith. Her light will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.
Her legacy of love and service will live on.
Public viewing for Servrina will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Sanders Funeral Service.๏ฟฝA celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at LifeWay Church at 1900 S. 13th St. in Kingfisher, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
She loved flowers and the color purple. The family has requested everyone wear purple to her service.
Memorials can be made to God's Covenant Church, 308 N. Main St., Kingfisher, OK 73750.

1945-2025
Judy Carol Duffy, 79, of Kingfisher, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on Dec. 14, 1945, to Willard and Ruth Duffy, Judy lived a full and beautiful life centered around kindness, laughter and family. She was known for her generous heart and unwavering desire to care for others, traits that shaped every chapter of her life.
As a young woman, she made it her mission to help anyone in need. She never met a stranger because once you met Judy, you were a friend.
Judy is survived by her beloved sister and best friend, Wilma Duffy; her loving daughter, Lashawn Kochenower and husband Gary Kochenower; her beloved son, Dale Cason and wife Ashley Cason.
She was a proud grandmother to Maci Marti and husband Alexi, Pete Marti Jr., Cloi Kochenower, Ayden Cason and Emmy Cason; and a joyful great-grandmother (Gigi) to Emily Marti, Logan Marti, Max Marti and Olivia Marti and she had many wonderful nieces, nephews, and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ruth Duffy; her siblings Ray Gene Duffy, Patti Schweitzer and Jim Duffy; and nephew Jimmy Ray Duffy.
Judy found happiness in the little things: reading a good book, watching the Eagles and Buffalo and taking fun, spontaneous trips with Wilma.
But most of all, her heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Her sweet smile, gentle spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of Judyโ€™s life will be held at p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Sanders Funeral Service Chapel in Kingfisher with graveside services to follow.
In Judyโ€™s memory, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter and kindness.
