"We are aware of the power outage affecting customers in Barkly West. Due to open gates of the Vaal & Bloemhof Dams, the Vaal River is overflowing, compromising line clearance at river crossing. At this stage, we are not able to cross the river and will only do so when the water levels have subsided and it is safe to do so"
