🚨 FOUR ARRESTED IN BOTSHABELO DRUG BUST

A multidisciplinary operation by the Mangaung Metro District Operational Command Centre (DOCC) East Task Team has dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, resulting in the arrest of four suspects in Botshabelo.

The operation, conducted on Friday, 03 July 2026, followed actionable intelligence regarding alleged drug dealing in the area. Acting on the information, police carried out coordinated raids at several identified residential properties.

The operation resulted in the arrest of four suspects, aged between 29 and 32, who were allegedly caught dealing in illicit substances.

During the raids, police seized a substantial quantity of:

Dagga
Mandrax
Crystal m**h

An undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing, was also confiscated.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrate's Court soon on charges relating to dealing in illicit drugs.

[WANTED R**E SUSPECT ARRESTED BY PROVINCIAL TRACKING TEAM AFTER EVADING ARREST SINCE 2010]

Free State Provincial Tracking Team has successfully apprehended a 46-year-old suspect who has been on the run from the law for over a decade.

The suspect, identified as Kenosi William Lechoko from Chris Hani in Bloemfontein, was successfully traced and arrested on Friday morning, 3 July 2026, at approximately 11:15 AM. Lechoko’s arrest follows an intensive tracking operation that led the provincial team to the Jaggersfontein Central Business District (CBD), where he was cornered and taken into police custody.

He was placed on the SAPS wanted list following a 2010 Kopanong r**e case. It is alleged that the suspect forced his 36-year-old female friend into his residence after a night of drinking, where he r**ed her. The victim managed to escape the house and immediately reported the matter at the Kopanong Police Station. Following the incident, the suspect fled the area and vanished, successfully evading law enforcement until his arrest yesterday.

The suspect remains in custody and is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon to face the charge of r**e.

The Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court has granted R10 000 bail to 56-year old Lyndon Adentuji Odili (known as Phil Odili) the husband of Mangaung Metro Deputy Mayor Lulama T**i Odili, following his court appearance on Wednesday.

Odili is facing charges of allegedly harbouring 18 illegal and undocumented foreign nationals.

He faces 18 counts of harboring,aiding,abetting, assisting, enabling, or helping illegal foreigners contravene the immigration act.
