MUSINA - A clandestine drug laboratory worth R600 million has been uncovered on a farm in Musina, Limpopo.

Five suspects which include two Mexican nationals, two Zimbabwean nationals and one Malawian national were arrested during the operation on Thursday evening.

WOMEN'S MONTH SPOTLIGHT| How Nomathemba is driving change in Bronkhorstspruit

BRONKHORSTSPRUIT - In a predominantly male-dominated logistics industry,it can be intimidating to find your feet as a woman. Nomathemba Skhosana - Selesho has been unstoppable.

The 34-year-old from Bronkhorstspruit, east of Tshwane is the brains behind Themba Liyeza Solutions. A company she started after a setback at work in banking, where she was asked to relocate without salary adjustment, instead she resigned and started the business.

The company was inspired by her father, a truck driver and mechanic, and by her own desire to create opportunities. Today Themba Liyeza Solutions provides transport, logistics, trucking and plant hire to help organisations improve efficiency and cut costs.

"I've learned that growth takes time and that not every opportunity is meant for you. Early in my journey, I believed that working hard alone was enough. I later realised that relationships, learning, patience, and sound financial management are just as important, "she said.

Starting out was tough. Access to funding and access to market were her biggest challenges. As a young black woman in a male-dominated industriey, she also had to prove her capability before people could trust her.
"Every rejection became a lesson, and every setback made me stronger," she said.

Nomathemba has since branched out. Through Peo Yarona Farming she promotes sustainable agriculture and precision farming to support food security and climate resilience.

Through Khumel Clothing she manufactures locally made PPE and workwear to improve workplace safety while creating jobs.

Living with a hearing impairment has never limited her. Instead it has strengthened her determination to succeed.
"I hope when young girls hear my story, they realise where you come from, the challenges or obstacles you face do not determine your future.

Nomathemba’s proudest achievement is not an award, though she has received a Presidential Honorary Award and the City of Tshwane Business Awards 2025.
"It’s knowing that a business that started with nothing has created employment for more than 25 people, helping families earn a living and build a better future. That is the impact I value most."
