This one hits different 💔

A man, just 30 years old… gunned down in broad daylight in Mowbray. Not at night. Not in hiding. Right there where people live, walk, and try to build something better for themselves.

My broer… how did we get here?

We can’t keep normalising this. Every time it’s “alleged gang-related” but behind that label is still a son, a friend, a life cut short. A community left shaken. Families living in fear like it’s just another day.

We need to ask ourselves:
Are we okay with this being our reality?

Because it’s not just about gangs anymore… it’s about safety, dignity, and the future of our people. Innocent lives are always caught in the middle.

To the young ones — this life only ends one way. Prison or a grave.
To the community — we need to stand together again.
To the leaders — we need action, not speeches.

Enough is enough now.

We deserve to live without fear.
We deserve better. 🕊️

💔 COLINE WILLIAMS (22) – ’N LEWE GENEEM DEUR APARTHEID

Sy was ondervra… gemartel… gebreek

Stil

Teruggetrokke

Getraumatiseerd

Maar sy het nie opgegee nie.

✊ STRYDER VAN DIE STRUGGLE

Coline was:

’n Student organiser tydens boikotte

Deel van die underground struggle

Verbonde aan netwerke in Bonteheuwel

Sy het geveg vir vryheid…
saam met ander soos Ashley Kriel

💣 DIE NAG VAN HAAR DOOD

Daardie nag het die polisie gesê:

👉 “Sy het haarself opgeblaas”

Maar toe haar familie haar liggaam sien…
het iets nie sin gemaak nie.

❗ WAT HULLE GESIEN HET

By die lykshuis het haar suster gesê:

Haar oë was uitgedwing

Haar gesig was nog heel

Haar neus – wat eerste sou breek in ’n ontploffing – was ongeskonde

👉 Sy was vermoor

🕊️ SY HET GESTAAN VIR IETS GROTER

Coline Williams was nie net ’n naam nie.

Sy was:

💥 KAAPSE REAL TALK

“Hierdie was nie net ’n dood nie…
dit was ’n boodskap.”

In daai tyd:

As jy opgestaan het → jy was ’n teiken

As jy gepraat het → jy kon verdwyn

As jy geveg het → jy kon doodgaan

🔥 FINAL WOORDE

👉 Want mense moet weet

🔫 FOUR KILLED IN KHAYELITSHA SHOOTOUT

Cops take down alleged extortion gang after deadly week in Site C

KHAYELITSHA – Violence is tightening its grip on the community as four suspected extortionists were shot dead by police in a dramatic shootout on Wednesday night in Site C.

This comes just a day after another deadly shooting in the same area, leaving residents shaken and asking: when will it end?

According to police, officers were acting on information about a group of men allegedly terrorising local businesses – demanding money in exchange for “protection”.

When the suspects were spotted travelling in a vehicle matching the description, police moved in to stop them along Japhta K Masemola Road.

But what started as a stop quickly turned into a deadly confrontation.

Police say the suspects pulled fi****ms and pointed them at officers.

Within seconds, gunfire erupted.

When the shooting stopped, four men lay dead.

Three fi****ms were recovered on the scene.

🚨 COMMUNITY UNDER SIEGE

Authorities say extortion in Khayelitsha is spiralling out of control.

These criminal groups are not just targeting shops anymore – schools and residents are now also in the firing line.

Local leaders say criminals are demanding money from schools, claiming they can “protect” them.

But many are asking:
Protect them from who… when they are the danger?

⚖️ INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has stepped in and is now investigating the shooting, as is standard procedure in cases where police use deadly force.

Meanwhile, detectives are also probing the previous night’s shooting, where two young men were killed and two others injured.

💔 A COMMUNITY TIRED OF BLOODSHED

Residents say they are living in fear.

One day it’s extortion.
Next day it’s shootings.
Now it’s both.

While some see the police action as necessary, others are left wondering:

Why is crime getting so bold?

How did gangs gain this much control?

And how many more must die before things change?

💥 REAL TALK

This is no longer just crime…
This is a system of fear taking over communities.

When criminals demand money from businesses, schools, and even ordinary people, it means one thing:

👉 The streets are slowly being controlled by gangs instead of the law.

And when shootouts like this become normal…

👉 Innocent people are always one bullet away from tragedy.

The question is no longer what happened…
The question is: what are we going to do about it?

One powerful Coloured South African who made a huge impact is:

✊ Ashley Kriel

Who was he?
Ashley Kriel was a young anti-apartheid activist from the Cape Flats who stood up against the apartheid government in the 1980s.

Why he matters:

He was a leader in the fight for freedom, especially among young people

He helped mobilise communities to resist apartheid oppression

He became a symbol of courage for Coloured communities

His legacy: Ashley Kriel was killed by security police in 1987, but his name lives on as a hero of the struggle. Today, he represents:

Standing up for justice

Fighting oppression even when it’s dangerous

The power of youth in changing a country

👉 In simple terms
“Hy was ’n jong man van die Flats wat nie bang was om op te staan teen die system nie. Hy het geveg vir freedom – en baie mense sien hom vandag as ’n legend.”

🔥 1. Jou petrol raak duur – maar dis net die begin

As petrol opgaan met soos R2 tot R5 per liter, beteken dit:

Jy betaal meer om werk toe te ry

Taxi’s en Uber gaan duurder raak

👉 Basies: jy voel dit eerste by die petrolpomp

---

🚕 2. Taxi en transport pryse gaan op

Taxi-eienaars gebruik baie petrol/diesel. As dit duur raak:

Taxi fares gaan op

Busse en delivery costs gaan op

👉 So nou betaal jy meer om by werk/skool te kom.

---

🛒 3. Kos en groceries raak duurder

Hier is waar mense hard geslaan word:

Alles wat jy koop moet vervoer word:

Brood 🍞

Melk 🥛

Hoender 🍗

As transport duurder raak → shops sit pryse op

👉 Dit word genoem “ripple effect”
👉 Fuel raak duur → transport raak duur → ALLES raak duur

---

---

📈 5. Inflasie gaan op (alles word duurder)

As fuel opgaan:

Die hele ekonomie raak duurder

Inflasie kan styg tot ±4% of meer

👉 En as inflasie opgaan:

Salarisse bly dieselfde

Maar alles raak duurder

---

💼 6. Werk en besighede kry swaar

Besighede betaal ook meer vir:

Transport

Electricity (diesel vir generators)

Products

Wat gebeur dan?

Pryse gaan op

Of mense verloor werk

---

✈️ 7. Vlieg en travel raak duur

Fuel beïnvloed nie net karre nie:

Vliegtuie gebruik jet fuel

Pryse kan met 70% opskiet in kort tyd

👉 Tickets raak duur → minder mense travel → minder jobs in tourism

---

🌍 8. Hoekom SA so hard getref word

As rand swak is → petrol nog duurder

👉 So ons kry dubbel klap:

1. Oorlog maak olie duur

2. Rand maak dit nóg duurder

---

⚠️ 9. Real gevaar: groot price shock

Daar word gesê petrol kan:

Met tot R2.60 – R3.10 per liter opgaan

Of selfs meer in worst case scenarios

👉 Dis massive vir gewone mense

---

💥 Bottom line

“Dis nie net petrol wat duur raak nie… dis jou hele lewe wat duurder raak. Van taxi, tot kos, tot werk – alles voel dit. En die arm mense voel dit eerste en die hardste.”

FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO THE WORLD STAGE 🇿🇦

Broers en susters…

Today we don’t just celebrate a win…
We celebrate what is possible.

A CHAMPION RISES

South Africa’s own
👉 Adriaan Wildschutt

has made the nation proud by winning the
👉 NYC Half Marathon

On one of the biggest stages in the world…
He stood tall.

Not just for himself…
But for all of us.

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

My broer… my suster…

Champions are not born in comfort.

They are built through:

👉 Early mornings
👉 Painful training
👉 Sacrifice when no one is watching

Behind this victory…

Is a story of discipline and belief.

WHY THIS MATTERS

This is bigger than running.

It shows us:

👉 A young South African can compete globally
👉 Hard work beats excuses
👉 Your background does not limit your future

A MESSAGE TO THE YOUTH

You don’t need to come from wealth…
You don’t need perfect conditions…

You need:

👉 Vision
👉 Consistency
👉 Hunger to succeed

Because if Adriaan Wildschutt can do it…

So can you.

REPRESENTING A NATION

When he crossed that finish line…

He carried:

🇿🇦 Our flag
🇿🇦 Our struggles
🇿🇦 Our dreams

And he showed the world:

South Africa produces greatness.

FINAL WORD

This victory is not the end…

It’s a reminder.

👉 That greatness lives inside our people
👉 That success comes through discipline
👉 That the world is watching

So rise.

Run your race.

And never stop believing.

MAKE SOUTH AFRICA PROUD 🇿🇦🔥

25/03/2026

DID COLOURED PEOPLE FIGHT APARTHEID? YES — AND HISTORY MUST REMEMBER

There is a dangerous belief still going around today…
That Coloured people “did nothing” during apartheid.

That is not true.

THE TRUTH THAT GETS FORGOTTEN

Long before the Soweto Uprising…

👉 Coloured and Indian students were already marching
👉 Communities were already resisting segregation
👉 People were already risking their lives

On the Cape Flats, young people stood in solidarity with the struggle across South Africa.

They protested.
They resisted.
They paid the price.

THE PRICE WAS BLOOD

Many people don’t know this…

👉 Children were shot
👉 Teenagers were killed
👉 Some were kidnapped and never found

Even an 18-month-old baby, Danielle Abrahams, died after inhaling teargas.

Let that sink in.

A baby… lost because of oppression.

NAMES WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET

Ask many young people today who these heroes are…

👉 Ashley Kriel
👉 Anton Fransch
👉 Robert Waterwitch
👉 Coline Williams
👉 Michael Miranda
👉 Shaun Magmoed
👉 Jonathan Claasen

Many don’t know them.

But they were part of the struggle.
They fought.
Some died.

THE CAPE FLATS WAS NOT SILENT

Places like:

Bonteheuwel

Manenberg

Hanover Park

Elsies River

Ravensmead

…were not just areas of poverty.

👉 They were sites of resistance
👉 They were battlefields of courage

Young people stood up — and many were gunned down by the apartheid government.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER TODAY?

Because when history is incomplete…

👉 People feel excluded
👉 Communities feel invisible
👉 Division grows

And that’s what we are seeing today.

A MESSAGE TO THE YOUTH

My brothers and sisters…

You come from:

👉 Strong people
👉 Brave people
👉 People who fought against injustice

But today…

That same energy is being turned against each other.

WE MUST CHANGE DIRECTION

The fight is not against each other.

The fight is:

Against violence

Against poverty

Against forgetting who we are

RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY

We cannot move forward if we don’t know where we come from.

👉 Learn your history
👉 Speak the names of those who died
👉 Be proud of your roots

FINAL WORD

Coloured people did fight apartheid.
They bled for freedom.
They paid with their lives.

Their stories were not always told…

But today — we remember.

Know your history.
Know your worth.
Stand together.

CAPE FLATS IS BLEEDING

Broers en susters…

Hierdie is nie politiek nie.
Hierdie is ons mense wat sterf.

---

WAT GAAN AAN?

📍 Cape Flats

👉 Skote elke week
👉 Bendegeweld wat groei
👉 Kinders wat nie meer veilig is nie
👉 Families wat hul geliefdes begrawe

---

HOEVEEL MOET NOG STERF?

Nie net statistieke nie…

👉 Dis seuns
👉 Dis dogters
👉 Dis ma’s en pa’s

Elke lewe tel.

---

WAAR IS DIE LEIERS?

👉 Hulle kom wanneer dit verkiesingstyd is
👉 Hulle praat wanneer kameras aan is
👉 Hulle verdwyn wanneer dit stil raak

---

---

GENOEG IS GENOEG

Ons vra nie meer nie…

👉 Ons eis veiligheid
👉 Ons eis aksie
👉 Ons eis verandering

---

FINALE BOODSKAP
