His Majesty Letsie III, the Catholic king of the kingdom of Lesotho, commemorated his 62nd birthday 👼 in the Berea district on July 17. The festivities commenced at Bela Bela on July 16, within the territory of Principal Chief of Matsekha, Chief Peete Lesaoana, where a Holy Mass was held at St Theresa Parish, attended by five Lesotho Catholic Bishops. The principal celebration was in the town of Teya Teyaneng, in the Berea district.

It is customary for the King to alternate his birthday celebrations among the ten districts of Lesotho. The event is honoured by the Christian Council of Lesotho, which leads the prayer sessions. Attendees included the Prime Minister of Lesotho, principal chiefs, parliamentarians, ministers, and various government officials.
