🔔Update: Chidimma Adetshina and Her Mother’s Documents Canceled by Home Affairs!

In a major update, Home Affairs has officially canceled the identity and travel documents of Chidimma Adetshina and her mother. This decision comes after it was confirmed that their documents were obtained fraudulently.

Without these documents, Chidimma and her mother are now left without legal identification, meaning they cannot access essential services or travel legally. The cancellation could also lead to legal consequences, as Home Affairs might pursue further investigations, potentially leading to charges of fraud.

The situation underscores the serious measures taken against document fraud in South Africa.

South Africa, We Need To talk.

It’s heartbreaking to see more and more reports about children falling ill and even losing their lives after eating poisoned or expired food bought from spaza shops, many of which are owned by foreign nationals, particularly from countries like Pakistan, Ethiopia, Somalia and Bangladesh. Some of which are in this country illegally. These small, local shops are supposed to be a convenience, yet they’ve become a source of fear for many families.

Our children deserve better. No parent should worry about their child getting sick from something as simple as a snack bought on the way home from school. It’s even more painful to see that while our communities are suffering, the national government remains quiet. Where are the stricter regulations? Where are the health inspections to ensure that every spaza shop, whether run foreign nationals, is selling safe and legal products?

This isn’t about creating division or xenophobia—it’s about demanding the safety and well-being of our children. We need accountability now. We need our government to act and ensure these shops meet basic health standards. Our children’s lives are at stake, and silence is not an option. 💔

Let’s raise our voices and fight for safer communities.
