#36 – BYRON KINGSLEY 🎤
Another exciting young talent enters the countdown. Coming in at #36 on The Culture Report SA's Top 50 Afrikaans Artists (Hip-Hop • R&B • Dancehall) – First Half of 2026 is Byron Kingsley.
Hailing from Stellenbosch in the Western Cape, Byron has steadily built a reputation as one of the brightest young voices in the Afrikaans R&B and pop scene. His smooth vocals, melodic sound and consistent work ethic have made him one of the most exciting emerging artists to watch.
Consistency has been one of Byron's biggest strengths this year. With 19 releases during the first half of 2026, he has been among the most active artists in the Afrikaans music space. Whether delivering heartfelt melodies, infectious pop records or emotionally driven performances, Byron continues to show his dedication to the craft. He also comes from a talented musical family, being the brother of fellow artist John Will Kingsley, whose name might appear later in the countdown.
The #36 ranking reflects a strong first half of the year built on consistency, versatility and artistic growth. Byron Kingsley has continued to build an impressive catalogue while establishing himself as one of the most promising young R&B and pop voices in Afrikaans music. With his momentum only growing, this may be just the beginning of an even bigger journey.
