Last Lifeline responded to a distress call last week about a puppy that was found in a lady's garden. We collected tiny Popeye, who was very weak and scared. Safe in his warm puppy crate, we removed many ticks, gave him a warm bath, wholesome food and dewormer. Popeye went to see the Witzenberg Vets Tulbagh on Monday, and received his first vaccination. We are happy report our tiny pup is parvo virus free.

Jump forward a week, he is eating like a champ, wagging his little tail non stop and has discovered his vocal chords.

We thank Oscars Arc WOOF Project for taking little Popeye. We will be providing safekeeping, until he can join their other pups, and be put up for adoption.

Give shelter animals a chance at love. Help us save lives.

At Last Lifeline, we are more than just photographers—we are advocates for those who have no voice. Our passion for animals drives us to capture their unique personalities through photography, helping shelter pets find their forever homes.

But our work doesn’t stop there.

We actively help manage feral cat communities in the Cape Winelands, Western Cape South Africa; ensuring those beautiful cats, often forgotten, receive medical attention, testing for common illnesses, rabies shots, sterilization, and ultimately given second chance to thrive.

We also encounter countless sick and injured animals in rural areas—many of whom could be saved if only the resources were available. Unfortunately, financial constraints often force heartbreaking decisions. Many animals end up being euthanized.
