When I lost my maternal grandmother in 2021, my entire world seemed to come to a halt.

She was someone I could always turn to, no matter what. Three years later, I find myself with her dear friend Rosie Gertse. They were best friends and married brothers. This has made me realize that not everything that feels like a loss is truly gone; sometimes, what seems lost is actually a hidden gain 🤍

Whenever I am with Rosie, I feel the presence of my grandmother, Ousie. I am eternally grateful for everything that has happened in my life, for each experience the way it was meant to be.

What I'm trying to say is: Grieve for as long as you need, until you feel whole again, and take plenty of pictures and videos with the ones you love.

Every time I want to leave this app, I get reminded by my kids why I started. I get reminded by my community why I inspire them. I get reminded by those who started with me how sharp my eye is, how the world needs my beauty, my softness, my duality, my awkward, my cunty.
