Choosing a different path can change the direction of a life.

WFS Magazine features Dlala B, a DJ, producer and beatmaker from Retreat, Cape Town, whose journey began with a lifelong love for music and has grown into a developing career built around discipline, creativity and purpose.

Since beginning his DJ journey in 2019, Dlala B has expanded into music production, beatmaking, radio residencies, collaborations and live performances, while continuing to build his identity as an artist.

His story is also about the choices behind the career. Rather than allowing negative influences around him to define his future, he chose to invest his energy in music and build towards something he believes in.

Today, he is working on a seven-track project with Chillfire, while continuing his work across events, radio and digital platforms.

At WFS Magazine, we believe stories like this matter because they give emerging creatives more than exposure. They create visibility, connection and an opportunity for people to discover the work behind the name.

What's in a name?

For Skii, it's more than a stage name. It's a story that began long before the music.

At just 16, Ethan Manakira is balancing school while building a music career, drawing inspiration from everyday life and giving a voice to the Ama2K generation. From childhood freestyles to writing lyrics while walking, his journey is a reminder that every artist starts somewhere.

Our latest WFS Magazine feature goes beyond the music to explore the identity, ambition, and experiences shaping one of Zimbabwe's emerging young voices.
