We all reach for pain medication when we need quick relief — whether it’s for a headache, period pain, back pain or other everyday aches and pains.

But frequent or long-term use of certain painkillers can put your kidneys at risk.

This doesn’t mean you should stop medication that has been prescribed for you. The important thing is to use painkillers as directed and speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you find yourself needing them regularly.

Take care of your kidneys — they work hard for you every day.

This womens month we we want to take a moment to honour the women who stand beside their partners through the journey of dialysis.

The ones who drive them to appointments, sit beside them during treatment, wait patiently, offer encouragement, help at home, and simply stay present when the days are difficult.

Caregiving doesn’t always make the headlines. Sometimes it looks like quietly showing up, week after week, because someone you love needs you.

To every woman walking this journey alongside her partner: we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you. 🌷

What a fantastic evening at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival!

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who purchased tickets through our organisation and supported our cause. We were also delighted to share a number of complimentary tickets with members of our community, giving them the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful event.

Every rand raised contributes towards the development of educational resources and supports our kidney disease awareness initiatives. Kidney disease often progresses without obvious warning signs, which is why raising awareness and promoting early detection are so important.

Your support helps us continue educating the public about kidney disease, its impact on individuals and families, and the real-life challenges faced by those living with kidney conditions.

Help our team reach their goal for Cape Kidney Association’s biggest annual fundraising event!

This year, our runners will once again take part in the Cape Town Marathon to raise funds for those affected by kidney disease.

Our runners Theo Steenkamp and Eugene Jackson yearly take time out of their schedules to run for our campaign!

This campaign will specifically support our quarterly food drive, helping us provide care and support to vulnerable individuals and families in need.
