This morning I found myself moving my body slowly , just feeling it and being present with it.
At 53, I realise how easy it is to think that getting older means we have to lose parts of ourselves along the way.
But I don't want to lose my movement ,my playfulness, my freedom or that wild little spark inside me.
Instead, I want to thank this body for everything it has carried me through and be kinder to it as it changes.
I want to move it, stretch it, listen to it and appreciate all the things it does for me every single day.
And perhaps getting older is also about releasing the things that no longer belong to us — old pain, old stories and old versions of ourselves.
Because my body may be 53, but my soul still feels young, curious and beautifully wild.
So I'm not here to grow old by becoming less alive
I'm here to embrace what i have.
