President Paul Biya’s PR team use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in new campaign video posted on his Instagram handle.

Cameroonians have slammed the video, claiming it lacks context and as well as that the joyful faces of the characters do not accurately reflect the genuine emotions of majority of citizens who are dissatisfied with the current government.

"It is worth it to note that if president was still in his right state of mind, an AI video would have never been an option for a campaign material at very this moment when Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) party must build a closer relationship with voters," Said a user who believes the video was not approved by president Biya.

After watching the video, I do agree that the lack of human connection is not strategic from Biya’s campaign team. More so, it is a strong indication of unwillingness to reach out to voters on the ground.

The carelessness of the Biya’s PR team looks very bad for the ruling party and if neglected, it will further undermine the crédibility of CPDM, resulting in a very low turnout during the impending October 12 2025 presidential elections.

Members of Carlton Hair brand and guests laugh as South African actress Enhle Mbali makes fun of black women’s hair during their partnership launch.

According to our interpretation, Enhle is describing her partnership with Carlton Hair as a solution to solve ‘kaffir hair’ problems.

‘Kaffir hair’ is a term used to describe black people’s hair as hard, rough, messed up or tacky.

It is expected that Enhle who is outspoken about GBV would be more careful with her choice of words and not use derogatoy terms when talking about women.

For those intending to visit South Africa, the new South Africa does not condone hate speech of any kind. It remains a respectful and equal society
