Petrol stations in South Africa have been warned that withholding fuel is illegal.

Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe says stations that deliberately hold back fuel from the market can face prosecution. The warning comes as South Africa tries to contain panic buying, localised diesel disruptions and another round of fuel-price pressure.
