The highest paid people I know aren't the smartest.
They're the clearest.
They take complicated ideas and make them simple.
Not dumbed down. Translated.
Big difference.
Anyone can make simple things sound complicated.
Use more jargon. Add more steps. Make it sound impressive.
That's not intelligence. That's insecurity.
Real intelligence goes the other direction.
Takes the complex and makes it obvious.
I've sat in rooms with brilliant people who couldn't explain their own ideas.
And rooms with average people who could explain anything to anyone.
Guess who gets paid more?
Guess who gets promoted?
Guess who people actually listen to?
Clarity is a skill:
→ Can you explain it to a 10-year-old?
→ Can you say it in one sentence?
→ Can you cut the jargon and still sound smart?
Most people add complexity to seem important.
The best people remove it.
Confusion is expensive.
Clarity pays a premium.
Be the person who makes things simple.
The world has enough people making things complicated.
