Hired for the Night — Episode 3

"The Face in the Photograph"

My eyes locked on the photo like it was burning.
The man in the picture… was smiling.
A familiar smile.
One I’d grown up seeing across the dinner table.

It was my father.

The client noticed the way my fingers stiffened.

> “You know him?” he asked, swirling his whiskey.

I didn’t answer.
My tongue felt heavy, my throat dry.

He slid the photo closer.

> “He’s coming tomorrow night. Big spender. Likes his privacy.”

I forced a shaky laugh, hoping it sounded casual.

> “Never seen him before.”

Lie.
A big, ugly lie.

The client leaned in, his breath warm against my ear.

> “You’ll be serving him. Madam’s choice.”

Every heartbeat after that felt like a drum in my chest.

That night, I went home and sat in the dark.
I kept telling myself there was no way he’d recognize me…
But deep down, I knew—
Tomorrow night, my own father would pay to touch my skin.

“The Last Train Home”

It was the last train of the night.
The kind of train where half the lights flicker and the air smells faintly of rain on metal.

Daniel had missed his earlier train because of work — a meeting that dragged on for no reason. He hated being in the city this late, but the quiet of the empty platform almost felt like a gift.

When the train pulled in, there were only three people in his carriage:

A man asleep against the window.

A woman scrolling on her phone.

And her.

She was reading an old paperback. No phone, no headphones. Just… there. Present in a way most people weren’t anymore.

He took the seat across from her. Not too close. Just near enough to read the title of her book when she turned the page.

It was the same book his mother used to read when he was a kid.

That was his excuse for starting the conversation.
"Good book?" he asked.
She smiled faintly. "It’s my third time reading it."
"Must be good, then."
"It’s not about good or bad. It just… feels safe."

The train rumbled on. Station after station. The other passengers got off, until it was just the two of them.

They talked — about books, the city, the places they wanted to see. She told him she liked late trains because you could pretend the world had gone to sleep, and only the people left awake were the ones who mattered.

He liked that. He liked her.

When they reached his stop, he hesitated. Should he ask for her number? Would it ruin the magic of this strange little meeting?

He stood, holding the rail. She looked up and said, "You’re getting off here?"
"Yeah."
She nodded. Then, as the doors began to close, she said:
"Maybe I’ll see you on the last train again."

He stepped off. The train pulled away.

For weeks, he took the last train every night, hoping.
And then one night, she was there again — same seat, same book.

She didn’t say hello. She just patted the seat beside her.
And that’s how their story began.

Hired for the Night — Episode 2

"The First Night: Skin, Shadows, and Silence"

The “studio” feels colder than expected. Candlelight flickers across plush velvet drapes, music hums so low it vibrates through my bones, and the air carries a heady mix of perfume and something metallic—anticipation.

My legs tremble as I step into that dim lounge for the first time. The madam’s instructions still echo: “Let them touch. Let them talk. Let them pay to feel your skin… especially those thighs.” I suck in a breath, trying to steady myself. My first client looms at a small table—his face hidden in shadow, only his silhouette clear. The sharp scent of whiskey bubbles in his glass.

He gestures. I sit. The contact is electric—not about the place, but about the hush and the risk.

His fingertips trace a slow line up my thigh. My breath catches. I’m trembling—not from excitement exactly, but from the shame, the fear, the raw power of the moment.

And yet… there’s a strange comfort too: this is how the bills get paid.

Deep in the dim light, I sense curious eyes watching. The madam stands just behind me like a dark guardian.

I close my eyes. Focus on steady breathing. Keep everything professional. Keep it clean.

One sharp knock sounds at the glass door. The client freezes. So do I.

He stands—reaches into his jacket pocket… and pulls out a photograph.

Square, glossy, and familiar.

My breath stalls.

Because...

I recognize the man in the photo.
