Mr. Sbongiseni Blessing Mkhize is a renowned radio and television producer, music executive, and entrepreneur with well-over a decade of experience in the media industry. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Journalism Honours at the Durban University of Technology (2025) and holds a National Diploma in Travel Tourism from ICESA Education, a Protools Course Certificate from ProMedia Training in Los Angeles (USA) and Feature Journalism Certificate from the University of Cape Town.

Before joining South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Ukhozi FM, Mkhize honed his craft at Gagasi FM, where he worked as a producer for nearly nine years. During his tenure, he garnered significant recognition, including a nomination as Best Content Producer at the South African Radio Awards in 2018.

During his tenure as executive producer of the afternoon drive on Gagasi FM, the show achieved a record-breaking milestone of over one million listeners within six months and the show was recognised with four nominations at the South African Radio Awards.

In 2021 he played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between South Africa and the global music scene. Using his connections, he secured interviews with international artists such as rapper T.I., Rick Ross, Chloe x Halle Bailey, Ari Lennox, Syleena Johnson, Deborah Cox, and Kenny Lattimore and many more to the station, elevating its profile and extending its reach beyond the borders of Africa.

This visionary approach helped position the station as a global player in the radio industry.

His global vision led him to New York in 2024, where he gained firsthand insight into the production process of iHeartMedia shows like The Breakfast Club, America’s most influential syndicated radio show and The Way Up with Angela Yee, as well as prominent American television programs such as The View and The Tamron Hall Show.
