Honour of Completing the Qur’an… Yet a Heartbreaking Moment 😢

A deeply moving video of a young orphaned girl from Gaza has captured the hearts of millions across social media. She was being honoured for completing the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an—an extraordinary achievement accomplished despite unimaginable tragedy.

The relentless bombardment had claimed the lives of her entire family. Her parents, siblings, and loved ones were all martyred. Yet, with remarkable resilience, unwavering faith, and steadfast determination, she persevered and completed her Hifz on her own.

However, as she walked onto the stage to receive her award, the overwhelming reality of her loss became impossible to bear. There was no father to embrace her with pride, no mother to wipe away her tears, no siblings, nor any beloved family member to celebrate her remarkable achievement. Overcome with emotion, she broke down in tears.

The ceremony was organised under the United Arab Emirates’ humanitarian initiative, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 (Al-Faris Al-Shahem 3). The programme honoured 600 Huffaz and Hafizat from Gaza, recognising their dedication to the Holy Qur’an with certificates of excellence, gifts, and financial awards. The event was held in collaboration with Gaza’s Ministry of Awqaf and several Qur’anic institutions.

The touching footage of this young Hafizah has moved audiences around the world. Many have described her as a symbol of patience (sabr), steadfastness, and unwavering devotion to the Holy Qur’an. Yet it was her tears—shed in the absence of those she loved most—that pierced countless hearts and served as a poignant reminder of the immense human cost of conflict.

May Allah Almighty protect this young Hafizah, grant her strength, envelop her in His infinite mercy, preserve her from every harm, elevate the ranks of her departed loved ones, and bring peace, justice, and relief to the people of Gaza. Ameen.
