Peach Overlanding

Peach Overlanding I’m a laid-back South African kid with a heart condition, but that doesn’t stop me from living life to the fullest.

Whether it’s tackling tough 4×4 trails or exploring the great unknown through overlanding, I’m all about pushing the limits! Whether it’s tackling tough 4×4 trails or exploring the great unknown through overlanding, I’m all about pushing the limits and making every moment count. Adventure isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life. Join me as I navigate the wild terrains, defy the odds, and turn every

challenge into a story worth telling. The name Peach comes from Princess Peach in Super Mario, and since my name is Mario, it just fits perfectly. I started this blog to share tips on modifying the Suzuki JB74 for off-roading and to document my adventures with this build. The idea for the blog came when I was searching for information about the Jimny and had to dig through endless forum pages to find what I needed. Now, I aim to make it easier for fellow enthusiasts by putting everything in one place.

We all start stock…

Then one day you wake up with beadlocks, a turbo, and a long-range tank wondering where it all went wrong (or right?) 🤷‍♂️😂

At least I don’t have to stop at every fuel stop now, thanks to the long range tank.

Very happy with all the work that has been done over the past few month. Just a broken bolt to drill out and figure out this annoying indicator issue.

Then maybe somw beadlocks 👀 What do you reckon should be the next mod?

The Jimny hates roof weight… so I went LT50. After a bunch of wind, gravel and mountain passes, here’s what actually matters (and what I’d skip).

Full review 👉

My honest review of the Alu-Cab LT50 rooftop tent after real-world testing. Lightweight, durable, and perfect for smaller rigs like the Suzuki Jimny.

A lot of people think long-range tanks are only about fuel capacity — but the real benefit is how it changes weight distribution. 🧐

With the tank mounted low and central, Peach feels far more stable off-road, especially on steep inclines.

No more sketchy moments when the front lifts — just smooth, predictable traction.

Bonus: I’ve ditched the rear jerry cans and roof load. Less weight up high = way better handling.

Even after a proper mud recovery this weekend, the tank’s still spotless underneath — no damage, no drama. 💅

Thanks to all the fellow Jimny owners that jumped into help and for the recovery ✌️

Peach might not have taken home the crown at the Jimny Gathering 2025 pageant 👑😂 but let’s be real — she’s still one of the most capable Jimnys in the country. She’ll happily out-wheel most rigs (and I’ll happily out-wheel most drivers while we’re at it).

Fun fact: as far as I know, she’s the only Jimny in South Africa running 33s, reduction gears and a turbo. Not too bad for a little peach 🍑

P.s. No salt 🧂 here to go on adventures and wheel the living sh*t out of the might Jimny.

Best part of the was making new friends, just chatting about these silly cars and where they have taken us.

Few little changes coming to the rig, but very happy with the rig! The turbo, the suspension, the tent and everything else are just spot on! From passing the big rigs on the highway, to rock-crawling, she does it all!
