To the Gafa Nation and every soul that has ever stood with me.
In this life, there are moments when any well-meaning diction falls short of the eternal gratitude in the heart. This is indeed one of those moments. To be voted the NAMA People's Choice, for the 10th time, is no longer just an accolade to me, this has transformed to being a mirror that my musical family holds up, to give evidence that the message in the music remains alive and well fed inside your souls.
Music should remain a moral arena, which after everything falters, gives soul and strength to the heart. My music shall forever strive in many ways to lift those whose feet are heavy from carrying the burdens of life. This award is a story that the strength lives within you in everyday struggles and creates hope with unbreakable tenacity, as you go through your daily hustles, reflections and rise every day early in the mornings pregnant with hope.
In every song I reflect upon through lyrics, I do not only wish to introspect on my own life, but our shared life as the 'have nots', whose dreams are perpetually silenced and tempted to view themselves as disposable statistics. Your votes are a testament to the continued need for this introspection. My duty, if I still hold the mic and if you still identify yourselves in this journey, is to continue being a vessel.
Heartfelt gratitude for trusting me to narrate your stories, your struggles, and hold your votes. From the depths of my heart, as long as the subalterns still feel the music, I will never betray the message.
Big respect to Jusa DeMentor for being the sculptor behind the techno heartbeat "Fake Love" video. You created a mirror that reflects how digital illusions can never drown real emotion and authentic souls. More than the views for the song, I respect your unwavering vision. To my musical family, your support turned the video into a statement.
I thank you.
