At Auteur Studios, we believe in giving back to the next generation of filmmakers. That’s why we launched the Insumansumane Short Film Grant, an initiative to support bold new voices in South African cinema. We’re proud to announce that Ntokozo Mlaba is the first recipient of the grant for his upcoming film Melusi. The award includes a R10 000 short film development prize, along with story development, production support, and legal guidance to help bring the film to life. This is just the beginning of building a pipeline of fresh, authentic stories. Congratulations Ntokozo, we can’t wait to see Melusi on screen!

Thrilled to share that our series The Coven has been officially selected for the DFM Pitch & Finance Forum 2026 at the 17th edition of the Durban FilmMart. Over the past 8 weeks, we’ve been part of the DFM ACCESS programme, where we received world-class mentorship, honed our pitch, and refined our project for the marketplace. The journey has been challenging but transformative. A heartfelt thank you to our mentor Bongi Ndaba for her wisdom throughout this process, your support has been invaluable. We can’t wait to bring The Coven to Durban and share this story with the world.
