COMMUNITY ALERT🚨

A Witbank local is in distress and needs our help!
A young mother from Ezinumbeni, who completed school in 2021, is struggling to obtain her identity document due to a bureaucratic nightmare.

Her mother, who didn't have an ID at the time of her birth, allegedly applied for her birth certificate with her grandmother's assistance. However, when she tried to apply for her ID, Home Affairs claimed her mother wasn't the one who applied for her birth certificate.

She's been trying to resolve this since 2022, applying for an unabridged birth certificate to prove her identity, but it's been stuck in limbo, with updates saying it's "sent to head office" for months on end.

Without an ID, she's unable to:
❌ Find employment
❌ Register her child for a birth certificate
❌ Access basic services

She also can't afford DNA tests to prove her mother's identity. We're her only hope!

WANTED ALERT 🚨: Angel Thandiwe Lubisi on the Run

Authorities and community members are on the lookout for Angel Thandiwe Lubisi, who is accused of taking money from multiple people and disappearing.

Reports indicate that she has been moving from place to place, taking cash from individuals and failing to pay it back. Victims say that when they try to track her down, they find that she has already left the area, leaving them with no way to recover their money. Her last known address was around Hlalanikahle.

This has caused frustration and financial strain for several households, and there is growing concern that more people could fall victim to the same scam.

Anyone with information about Angel’s whereabouts is urged to come forward so that justice can be served and no one else falls prey to these alleged actions.

🗨️ : Can Men Take Their Wives’ Surnames? SA’s Top Court Says YES!

South Africa’s Constitutional Court has made history by ruling that men can now legally take their wives’ surnames or even hyphenate them, after marriage.

The court struck down Section 26(1)(a)-(c) of the Births and Deaths Registration Act (1992), which only allowed women to change their names after marriage. This was declared unconstitutional and discriminatory. Parliament has two years to update the law, but in the meantime, couples can start applying under the new, gender-neutral ruling.

Couples can decide together what surname works best for their family.

This reflects today’s values and promotes mutual respect.

But some say tradition matters and some families see surnames as sacred and worry this undermines culture.

COMMUNITY ALERT 🚨: GRANT STOPPED, FAMILY IN CRISIS

A distressed family from Hlalanikahle Ext 3, who are facing a heartbreaking situation.

Their sister, who is wheelchair-bound and completely dependent on care, was receiving an disability grant but her payments were stopped 5 months ago.

Since then, the family has taken her countless times to SASSA offices, at great cost, as they must hire transport every time they travel. Despite providing proof at Home Affairs that she is not sharing her identity with anyone else (as claimed by SASSA staff), her grant remains frozen.

• They are struggling to buy food and adult diapers.
• The family says they were met with attitude when seeking help from SASSA staff.
• The woman has had no assistance for months, despite her health condition.

This is not just a grant issue, this is a call for humanity.
This family needs urgent intervention, whether it’s from SASSA management, local leaders, or compassionate community members willing to assist with food, pampers, or transport.
