Tragic Drowning in KwaMaQoma Shocks Community

KwaMaQoma - A heartbreaking incident shook the KwaMaQoma community earlier today when three young boys ventured into a local dam, resulting in the tragic deaths of two of them. The Raymond Mhlaba Municipality confirmed the incident in a media statement issued this afternoon.

According to the statement, the bodies of the two boys were recovered thanks to the swift and dedicated efforts of the SAPS Search and Rescue team, local emergency services, and community members who rallied together in this time of need. One boy survived the ordeal.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragedy," said Mayor Cllr Nomlie Sango in a statement expressing condolences to the grieving families and the entire KwaMaQoma community. "Losing two young lives in such a heartbreaking way is truly devastating. We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone affected."

"We are committed to providing support to the families, including psycho-social services, as they cope with this difficult time," Mayor Sango shared.

In light of the incident, the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality is urging parents, guardians, and community members to remain vigilant and warn children about the dangers of dams, rivers, and other unsafe water bodies, particularly during warm weather seasons.

BREAKING NEWS: Democratic Alliance Takes Expropriation Act to Court

In a significant development, the Democratic Alliance (DA) has filed papers in the Western Cape High Court, challenging the constitutionality of the Expropriation Act.
