✨ Women Behind The Wheels Of Steel with Fusion ✨
Some musical journeys begin with a hearing record; others begin with music being embedded in your identity.
For Fusion, Jazz was an integral part of the soundtrack of childhood, introduced to her by her father and eventually becoming part of the foundation for an expansive musical identity. Today, that identity effortlessly moves through Nu-Jazz, Lounge, Broken Beats and Deep House, creating melodic sets that have taken her from intimate alternative spaces to some of South Africa's biggest music platforms.
Today, Fusion’s story includes international stages, legendary South African selectors, radio residencies and years of developing a sound that is distinctly her own, but the journey hasn't always been easy. Building a space for herself in this industry has meant being intentional about her craft, her preparation and her consistency – and, at times, working twice as hard to make sure the music speaks before anything else does.
As we wrap up Women’s Month, we don't only celebrate Fusion as a woman behind the decks, but as an artist with a sound, a story and an identity of her own. And at Vinyl Camp, we celebrate Fusion as a musical storyteller, an artist whose curiosity, versatility and unmistakable ear continue to shape the way she moves through the culture.
