LUGGAGE BELONGINGS LEFT BEHIND AT OLD DURBAN DRIVE-IN SITE AS 30 000 IMMIGRANTS ARE MOVED TO LIMPOPO

DURBAN-Some foreign nationals accommodated at the Old Drive-In site in Durban reportedly had to leave behind personal belongings after being instructed to carry only one bag when boarding buses to Musina in Limpopo.

The individuals were part of groups being relocated as part of ongoing repatriation and processing arrangements, with transport operations moving people to designated facilities in Musina.

Reports indicate that items such as household goods and personal effects could not be loaded due to space and transport limitations, resulting in some belongings being left at the site.

The situation follows the closure of the temporary holding area at the Old Durban Drive-In, where authorities have since begun rehabilitation and clean-up operations under the eThekwini Municipality.

72 Undocumented Foreign Nationals Arrested During Monsterlus Anti-Illegal Immigration Protest

MONSTERLUS – Residents of Monsterlus and surrounding villages staged an anti-illegal immigration protest on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, marching through several areas, including Unit B, Matsisi, Jerusalem and Sepaku Village.

Police monitored the demonstration, which ended peacefully, and confirmed the arrest of 72 undocumented foreign nationals during operations conducted in the targeted areas.

Protest leader Simon Kgagara said the march aimed to demand stricter enforcement of immigration laws, adding that similar demonstrations are planned in nearby villages. The protest follows an earlier peaceful march to the Department of Home Affairs in Groblersdal on 19 June.

DRIVER KILLED, 11 INJURED AS BUS TRANSPORTING FOREIGN NATIONALS FROM KZN OVERTURNS ON N1 NEAR MUSINA

MUSINA - A Repatriation bus has overturned on the N1 road approximately four kilometres south of the Beitbridge Border Post near Musina in the Vhembe District.

According to preliminary reports, a bus transporting individuals from KwaZulu-Natal to the Repatriation Camp in Beitbridge was involved in a crash after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to fatigue, causing the bus to overturn.

The driver has been confirmed deceased, while eleven passengers sustained injuries.

The injured were transported to Musina Hospital for medical treatment.

Emergency services, law enforcement agencies and traffic officials are on the scene managing the incident and providing the necessary assistance.

The road remains open to traffic at this stage. However, motorists are advised that temporary closures may be implemented to allow forensic investigators to conduct their work safely. Delays should therefore be expected.

Motorists travelling along the route are urged to exercise extreme caution, reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance, and comply with the instructions of traffic officials on the scene.

The Department of Transport and Community Safety says it continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as more information becomes available.

PREGNANT WOMEN AND YOUNG CHILDREN AMONG 1 000 FOREIGN NATIONALS CAMPING OUTSIDE MANKWENG POLICE STATION

MANKWENG - Scores of pregnant women and young children are among 1 000 foreign nationals camping at Mankweng Police Station in Ga - Mothapo outside Polokwane seeking assistance to be deported home.

The foreign nationals mainly from neighbouring country, Zimbabwe say they are fearing for their safety ahead of planned nationwide demonstrations against illegal immigration scheduled for Tuesday, June 30th.

The immigrants claim they were chased away from their rented homes in Mankweng and surrounding areas.

Group leader Clever Zvitete from Zimbabwe says they have been camping for almost a week - four days to be precise.

Zvitete says their camping at the station is not a form of protest but a call for help. He says they are appealing to anyone who can assist them – including food, sanitation supplies and transport so that they can return home.

He says most of the immigrants are in the country legally, however they still feel unsafe around South Africans.

TWO MEN ACCUSED OF THE MURDER OF FUEGO BA SWELE MFANA RETURN TO COURT

POLOKWANE - Two men accused of the murder of Lekompo producer, Adifele Lastborn Maimela, better known as Fuego Ba Swele Mfana are back in court on Monday morning.

Accused number 1, July Mashishi ( 25 ) and Lucas Mothiba ( 27 ) accused number 2 in the matter were released on R5 000 bail each by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, April 22nd.

They were arrested in connection to the murder of Fuego Ba Swele Mfana - who was shot and fatally wounded on the 7th of April in Polokwane.

● THE ACCUSED WERE GRANTED R5000 BAIL EACH

During the bail hearing, Mashishi's lawyer, Mokebe Mathiba pleaded with the court to release his client as he has three children and is also caring for his elderly, unemployed mother.

Amanda Mphahlele, who is the lawyer of accused number 2, Mothiba said there is no evidence directly linking her client to the shooting. She pleaded with the court to release Mothiba as he has a child with chronic illness.

State Prosecutor Advocate Muriel Maseda said the state did not oppose bail.

Presiding Magistrate’s Rodgers Machovane said he was satisfied that both accused met the requirements for bail.

However, the bail came with conditions with the accused ordered not to commit other crimes, not interfere with witnesses and not post anything on social media about the deceased or his family.

The accused were further ordered to report to the nearest police stations every Monday or Friday between 8am and 6pm.

Nissan Leave South Africa

As we are busy being entertained by sweet ConCourt Phalaphalas, Nissan is quietly folding its doors in RSA. Today, the Nissan management at the Rosslyn manufacturing plant said their goodbyes to the dejected staff. From 1 June 2026, Nissan will become an imported Japanese brand. The price of replacement parts shall shoot through the roof for Navara owners.

Nissan sold the factory to the Chinese government and its car brand, Chery. Cheries shall be assembled here in Rossylyn. It is a time of fear, uncertainty and anxiety for the poor workers who were used to the good pay and working conditions of Nissan. Now, they will have to dance to the stingy Chinese tune. I feel for them.

Already, China is sending a group of key workers to Rosslyn. Times are changing.
