Matric Results 2025 to Be Published on 13 January 2026 in newspapers

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has confirmed that the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric results will be published in accredited newspapers on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the DBE said the matric results will once again be published in an anonymised format, displaying only learners’ examination numbers and results, with no names, surnames or ID numbers included. This approach has been in place since 2022 and is aimed at balancing public access to results with the protection of learners’ personal information. Read more here :

KOMATI RIVER RESCUE: POLICE SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

SAPS in Mpumalanga has dismissed viral social media claims accusing police of ignoring a man who was seen fishing on the dangerous rocks of the Komati River in Komatipoort.

According to police, this is NOT true.

Authorities confirmed that several rescue attempts were made by SAPS and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), but the man repeatedly refused to be rescued, choosing to continue fishing in the river — an area known for crocodiles and hippos.

The man had been spotted at the river on multiple occasions, even appearing in the background during a televised SAPS interview linked to the search for two missing SANDF members whose vehicle was swept away by floodwaters.

On Wednesday, 7 January 2026, an EMS helicopter was deployed to rescue him, but he evaded help. yesterday rescue teams finally succeeded in removing him from the river despite resistance.
