📸 Film camera. I’ve been blessed to see many beautiful places abroad, but when it comes to natural wonders, our mountains and waters will always be top-tier. I’d even dare say they’re more breathtaking than many others.

Imagine finishing a long day at work, and just before heading back to our humble accommodations, you get to witness a view this majestic. It was already dusk when we finished our surgeries in Basilisa, and we were later guided to the boulevard in Cagdianao, still in Dinagat Islands, where we saw this stunning sight.

Moments like these make you realize how much many of us living in the cities are missing out on. Perspectives matter, and I truly hope we continue learning to value these natural gifts more. These are treasures that can help uplift communities and support livelihoods—not resources to destroy, but blessings to nurture, protect, and cherish. .

Japan has a way of slowing you down in the best possible way. Standing under the cherry blossom trees in Osaka felt quieter than the rest of the world—as if nothing else mattered except simply being there, being present, living in that moment.

They say that’s what these trees and flowers do: they make you appreciate what’s right in front of you. You don’t worry about the past or overthink the future; you just stay in the now. And in my case, that “now” was shared with my wife—my life, my best friend—enjoying the pink blooms, the cool breeze, and the gentle reminder that moments like these are meant to be fully felt.

So yes, it doesn’t have to be cherry blossoms. We all need that kind of peace in our lives—the pause, the right company, and the quiet flow of time. Just like how Osaka gave us that moment too.

Since we were in Singapore for the Alcon Foresight Meeting 2026, I took the opportunity to slip away for a quick escape with my wife. As many know, when schedules get demanding, I always have my number one cheerleader—someone who inspires me and wholeheartedly supports everything I do.

So whenever I can, I make it a point to treat her to the best the world has to offer. I took a short break from the event and brought Donna to one of Singapore’s tallest buildings, where we spent the evening at SKAI Bar. From the 70th floor, we enjoyed great drinks, meaningful conversation, and sweeping views of Singapore’s skyline glowing in the night. 🎥

We all love to run, so how could we resist playfully striking a pose in front of Osaka’s famous Glico Running Man?

When I started running, I simply encouraged my family to stay active and exercise. I never really planned for it, but they eventually grew to love the same sport I’m deeply passionate about. During our recent trip to Japan, we found ourselves doing what we always do when we travel as a family—laughing and striking our usual family pose.

This spot may seem ordinary to many, but for us, it felt special. It was a quiet nod to something we all now share: a love for running and traveling together. The landmark itself is simple, yet it has become a small checkpoint of our memories—reminding us to be present, to be together, and to stay healthy.

Japan is undeniably beautiful, which is why we keep coming back. But moments like this, shared with my family, are always the highlight.

In its timeless beauty, we found ourselves slowing down, taking it all in, and appreciating history not just as something we learn, but something we truly experience.

There was something surreal about walking through Senbon Torii with my wife—like being carried by a rhythm of color and movement. With over a thousand torii gates lining the path, the world outside slowly faded, and it stopped being about the destination. It became about being present, together. No rush, no agenda—just quiet steps and shared moments. It’s the kind of experience you don’t have to explain, but one that stays with you long after you’ve left.
