The 011 Festival is going down at 011 Skatepark in Joburg on September 24.

It’s a full-tilt celebration of Jozi’s soul, with a music lineup that punches hard, heavy hitting skateboarding, a handpicked market featuring local artists and makers, and a solid beer garden courtesy of Devil’s Peak and giveaways from blunt Magazine and Crispy Skateboards. bluntmagza caught up with the organisers Ric and Geoff to find out a bit more about the event.

Kids under 12 get in free — bring the whole fam.

Featured artists include Fuzigish, Shameless, Tha Cutt, Clauds, The Black Cat Bones, Stoney Maroney, Bass Next Door Crew and Lefokolodi.

A big thanks to Jozi photographer Lefa Ditshego for covering the recent House of Vans event for blunt. Lefa did an outstanding job, beautifully capturing the skateboarding, music, people, and scenes around the occasion.
Somehow this shot of Justus Kotze’s melon grab did not get added to the HOV skate gallery we recently published. It’s one of Lefa’s favourite shots from that day and we dig so we thought it would be a good idea to publish it as its own post.

A big thanks to Jozi photographer Lefa Tshidego for covering the recent House of Vans event for blunt. Lefa did an outstanding job, beautifully capturing the skateboarding, music, people, and scenes around the occasion.

Part of his brief was to capture some of the regular folk attending the event, the people who make up the fabric of Jozi street culture and reflect it back at us and without whom the scene would not exist. Here are just a few of the great portrait images he took at HOV.

Not only was Peter Aitken a legendary skater, but he was also an amazing graffiti artist. EYOS ( ) can be seen all over KZN and the Eastern Cape so think of him next time you see his big drippy letters around town. Peter was truly in his element when doing any form of art. Like skating, it was his happy place. Hope there’s loads of blank walls wherever you are. RIP 🕊️
