• Independence: Media that is independent from corporate, government or donor control.
• Social Justice: Media that challenges racism, sexism and xenophobia.
• Access and Participation: Media that provide community access to means of production, including equipment and training opportunities. OUR PRESS CODE: Mapepeza Community Newspaper strives to hold these rights in trust for the country’s citizens; and it is subject to the same rights and duties as the individual. SPORTS: Lucky D Boxing Hosts Ratanda Boxing Tournament

Local boxing fans will finally get the chance to see their own fighters in action when the Lucky D Boxing & Fitness Club and Sedibeng Boxing Organisation host an amateur tournament at Top Shayela Lifestyle, next to Shoprite, on Saturday, 27 September.

“This is about giving our young fighters a platform,” Dlamini stressed. “Most of them have never fought in front of their families and home supporters. This is their moment to shine, and we want the whole community to be part of it.”

The organisers are calling on businesses and individuals to come forward as sponsors or donors to make the event a success.

Heeding the call, Mapepeza has contributed this poster and a cash donation towards the successful hosting of this local sports showcase.

Please contact Lucky Dlamini for more information or to make your contributions on 065 912 0375.
