tonight Yonela Mnana's ethereal 'Threequency' launches part 3 of House on the Hill's Silent Treatment, at the Goethe-Institut Johannesburg. The group features Gontse Makhene on perc and Lebogang Ledwaba on violin, and the sound they explore is beautifully connected and unique. starts at 6.30pm. There may still be some seats left via Quicket - entrance is free but space is limited. at 7.30 part 3 of the installation opens, and runs until July 15 ...

House on the Hill is producing a book of portraits from the series called 'Silent Treatment' - it will be launched in August. You can go to Goethe-Institut Johannesburg anytime it's open and view the first installation. (ends May 20) HOTH's first 6 episodes are on the wall, and you'll see portraits of Thandi Ntuli, Shane Cooper, Nompumelelo Nhlapo, Billy Monama, Bra Themba Mokoena, Carlo Mombelli, Ayanda Sikade, Keenan Ahrends, Yonela Mnana, Gontse Makhene, Sydney Mavundla, Afrika Mkhize and Amaeshi Ikechi .... There will also be 5 exclusive performances, the second being on the 22nd May. watch this space 🙂
