"Shafted" - a 'Shaft' soundtrack 💯 Dug up from the vault and mixed into a 60+ minute Classic Soul and Jazz extravaganza.

The Shaft franchise consists of five action-crime feature films and seven television films, centered on a family of African-American police detectives who all share the name John Shaft. ‘Shaft - The Movie’ was released in 1971. Following the box office failure of ‘Shaft in Africa’, the studio moved the franchise to the TV screen in 1973, with a television series ordered and released to CBS network. The latest movie release dates back to 2019.

The Shaft soundtrack “Shaft” is a double album by Isaac Hayes, recorded for Stax Records' as the soundtrack for the 1971 blaxploitation eponymous film release. The album mostly consists of instrumentals composed by Hayes as score for the film. At the 1972 Grammy Awards, "Theme from Shaft" won the awards for Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical and Best Instrumental Arrangement.

In 2014, the album was added to the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Melba Moore - Imagine 🇺🇸 There’s no question that the world we live in is full of turmoil – hatred, violence, racism, and so forth. Those negative conditions, however, don’t stop people from hoping for a better world. That hope has been expressed in song many times over the years by artists in just about every genre. The album and title track that fit into this category is “Imagine”.
