I love aeroplane take-offs.

I each time try to seat by the window and record a take off video. It reminds me of the power of taking off in life!

Many of us are stuck in places because we fail to take off. We procrastinate our take off at life and before we know it, we think it’s too late, the same procrastinating mind that never took off is the one that tells you it’s too late.

All the two are lies‼️

You don’t have to wait another moment to take off, and you are never too old to take off on anything you want to do in life.

Sometimes… we live for others.

What do I mean?

A couple of times I have come across people who share something about me, who pass a comment… and those words, they stay. You see, when you are living your life, you often think you are just living it for yourself. But it turns out we live for others… and others live in us.

A couple of times, people have spoken about my . And what struck me the most are the women who came to me and said, “Nyari… thank you for not your skin.”

One of them is a friend of mine, someone I have known for years, now based in Australia. We hardly talk, but when we reconnected, one of the things she said to me was, “Thank you for not bleaching.” And she is not the only one. Two, three more women have said the very same thing.

When I started my TV show years back, one of the issues I spoke about boldly was skin bleaching. Because I was appalled by it. Personally… I do not believe in bleaching. I see it as long-term suffering.

And to me, when people bleach, it is like saying no to dark skin. It is like downvoting natural beauty. And that is not who I am. I believe people are beautiful in all their shades. We can enhance our natural beauty in many ways, but bleaching is not one of them. God help me, I would never choose that path.

I truly believe there is nothing wrong with being dark skinned. What I have a problem with is a society that tells women otherwise. And yes, I understand, sometimes it is not even the women, it is the pressure around them. But I still believe women can rise above that, stand bold, and embrace their beauty as they are.

Because little girls are watching.

The dark-skinned girls must never grow up thinking there is something wrong with them. And the light-skinned girls must never grow up thinking there is something wrong with their dark-skinned sisters. We owe them that.

And the truth is, most bleaching never ends well. Many women cannot even afford the so-called proper creams, not that any of them are safe, and they end up using harsh chemicals that harm their skin, their bodies, even their lives.

So if I can stand as an example, then let it be this: I choose to love the skin I am in. I choose to care for it the best I can. I choose to embrace my natural shade.

Because there is nothing wrong with being dark.

Women, we are beautiful in the colors God gave us. Let us embrace that. Let us embrace ourselves.

I once read something that stayed with me. It said great people always carry a touch of carefree, a little mischief, and a free spirit. Where others see rules, they see an opportunity to question, to stretch, and to break barriers.

Truth be told, I have always been that kind of person. Since childhood I carried a light, playful mischief, but always calculated. I was never careless, yet I never allowed myself to be fully boxed in. That little spark of mischief gave me courage to try, to question, and to reach for more.

And when you think about it, how can you truly become great if you only ever follow the rules? Rules placed by people who may never have broken ground, who may have worked all their lives only to remain average. Greatness demands that we step out, dare to be different, and risk being the first.

Great people are often the first in many ways. The first in their families, their communities, their schools, even their churches. They break ceilings so that others can walk on wider ground. That spirit, the one that refuses to be boxed in by society or even by parental expectations, respectfully if you can 🥰, is the same spirit that lives in you.

So remember this. If you know you are called to greatness, learn to follow that free spirit within you. Carry a little mischief if you must. Do not let fear shrink your dreams. Do not let rules written by others define your story. Be bold, be authentic, and step into the fullness of who God has called you to be. 🌺

Wishing you a happy and productive week ahead. And always, remember the reason for your why. ✨

This morning dueint praise and worship, I remembered…
I once fasted and cried out to God for the very place I stand in today.
Tears flowed, not from pain, but from awe.
He lifted me from the miry clay, alandinyurura mumadhaka.

Too often we chase the next thing and forget to thank Him for the prayers He has already answered.
So today, Lord, I celebrate every breakthrough.
I am far from where I started.
For this and for so much more, I am truly grateful.
Thank You Lord 🙌🏾

You are enough, you do not need to be someone else.

You can improve who you are but make sure your fundamentals are your original person.

! (Charova sei chando)!

Many people get surprised when i tell them my age. Truth is it didn’t just happen, I’ve always prayed to have a youthful body and to remain young at heart. Ofcourse I’m disciplined in areas of prayer, facial care routine, workout and largely eating healthy.

Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.”

What’s that one goal you set at the beginning of the year that you’ve actually stuck with?

For me, while the weight hasn’t moved much, my body has gotten stronger and more toned — and I’m loving it! The kind comments from people noticing have really kept me going.

As I worked out this morning, I thought about how it’s not the strongest or the smartest who win, it’s those who do not quit. Whether it’s building a dream, losing weight, or starting something new, the key is to keep showing up.

Some days I have to trick my mind just to do 20 minutes, but once I start, I often push through. Movement is the win.

What’s been your most consistent win this year? I’d love to hear it — and if you’ve paused, maybe this is your sign to start again. 💐🌺🌹

As a 20-something-year-old back then, one of the hustles that kept me going was cross-border grocery trading. I’d travel from Bulawayo to Francistown every Friday after work and be back Saturday — selling and restocking. That hustle put food on my table and paid for my tuition in Marketing Studies.

💪🏾 It taught me discipline, survival, and the power of working with dignity.

To my Gen Z crew in your 20s, what’s that honest hustle you’re doing today?

To my 90s babies — what’s keeping you going?

And my 80s and 70s generation — what hustle are you building or sustaining right now?

Let’s encourage each other — share yours below. Someone might just be inspired to start again.👇🏾

With regards to my continued learning, thank you Mai VaGil Joseph NaRuth for asking me what I usually do to keep myself educated, up to date with trends, and competitive in my fields. Here are some of the things I’ve been doing over the years, months, weeks, and even daily:

1. I intentionally pursue knowledge and authority in areas I’m passionate about. For example, pursuing my Master of Science Degree came from the desire to upscale myself and become an authority in that space. The same goes for my Law Degree, I simply knew I needed it to grow and contribute meaningfully.

2. I consume daily podcasts in leadership development, pursuing one’s vision, and so many other topics. I listen to both Christian and circular podcasts, including those by millionaires sharing their journeys and experiences. I also enjoy listening to human rights podcasts.

3. My church runs a daily Bible reading programme, and when I’m working out—usually five times a week, minimum four—I listen to the audio Bible, a podcast, or join our church’s 6.30am to 7.30am prayer sessions online.

I’ve really become a podcast ju**ie. Even while driving, I’m usually listening to either a podcast or the Bible.

4. I’ve recently started listening to audiobooks, often while working out or in between meetings when I’m driving.

5. I also follow constructive and inspiring people on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. These include celebrities who work out, filmmakers, business leaders, politicians, and preachers.

6. I keep friendships with progressive people and those who inspire me. I’m also learning to stop being stingy with investing in networking, so I now attend paid events where I can afford to.

7. I’ve recently begun paying for tools that support deeper learning. For instance, I subscribe to platforms like ChatGPT which I use for research and staying informed.

8. I’m quite switched on when it comes to trends in technology and what’s happening in different sectors, including social spaces.

9. Book reading is still a bit of a challenge for me, something I need to improve. I do buy books, but I often don’t go beyond 40 percent in reading them.

10. I also watch movies, and as a filmmaker myself, I now do so with a producer’s eye. I pay attention to filming techniques, equipment used, and storytelling. I’m not just enjoying the film, I’m learning too.

11. I stay rooted in spiritual community and family, and I distance myself as quickly as possible from unnecessary drama. I protect my peace and stay focused on what builds me.

The truth is, many of these things can be done without paying money if one chooses to focus on edifying content. If we can spend time on Facebook, surely we can make time to be on YouTube learning something new.

I hope this encourages someone to start building their own personal development plan.
