50 years of 50 cent.🥳🕴🏾
Back in the early 2000's, there were FOUR big rappers at the time (back then we would've called them the big FOUR😁)! That was Jay-Z, Nelly, DMX and Eminem! This guy in the picture was rising and had started to make noise in the streets with dope mixtapes!
None of the "Big THREE" wanted to touch him coz of his street reputation. Then the worse thing happened, he got shot nine times! Everybody believed he was done, it was over for him! Months passed by and this guy came back with another mixtape, only this time, Paul Rosenberg (Eminem's manager, who had been buying this guy's mixtapes so that he can give them to Eminem for a listen, even before he got shot) bought this one also, and gave it to Eminem!
In one interview, Eminem recalls:
"All I knew was that 50 Cent got shot, and the general industry feeling towards him was that he's done! Then Paul gave me his new mixtape! I remember asking, '50Cent still raps?', and Paul said, 'Just listen'. And I did! First thing I said to Paul was: ' This guy is Dangerous!' "
Then Eminem reached out to 50, gave him a beat to see what he was going to do with it! 50 worked on it, sent it back to Eminem with two verses and a hook! Eminem was so impressed with it, he decided to write his own verse and added it as a third verse, "Patiently Waiting" was born!
Eminem told Dre about 50, Dre decided to trust Em! 50 was signed under Em's Shady Records. And Em got Dre to produce half of the album (the other half was to be produced by Eminem! Hence the album was under Shady/Aftermath)
After everything was done, a single titled "In Da Club" was dropped, and 50 blew up! And when I say blew up, I mean BLEW the F #$ UP!!!!!! 🙆🏾♂️🤯
The streets of South Jamaica Queens had created a MONSTER, and Eminem unleashed it!
Smart guy, resilient, true definition of "Self-Belief", businessman, TV Producer of note!
His name is Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and if he doesn't inspire you, I don't know what will.
