A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Silver Town after allegedly stabbing his stepfather to death during a domestic dispute.
According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday. It is alleged that the suspect, known as Wander, was involved in an altercation with his stepfather at their home, during which he stabbed him in the chest, leaving him critically injured. Police and paramedics were called to the scene, where the victim was declared dead.
Sources close to the situation claim the altercation began when Wander was reportedly assaulting the deceased’s biological child. The stepfather had arrived home carrying food for the family and intervened in an attempt to stop the assault. During the confrontation, the food was allegedly thrown aside before the suspect went to the kitchen, returned with a knife, and stabbed him.
It is further alleged that the suspect attempted to take his own life after the incident but was unsuccessful and fled the scene through a window.
He was later found hiding in Silver Town, just outside Alexandra, where community members apprehended him and handed him over to the police at the scene of the incident.
