Nkazimulo Khanya also known as Year 2000 khanya (Y2k) is an emerging Hip hop artist from the KwaZulu Natal Province (KZN) in Greater Kokstad municipality, the artist known for his amazing work locally and some of the places around the province and the Eastern Cape Province. Nkazimulo Khanya is a South African artist born on the 11th of November 2000 at Kokstad, one of the towns around KZN.
He grew up at Kokstad and was raised by Mr and Mrs Khanya. “I have an older brother and a little sister .” He added. Year 2000 khanya went to Nonqubela Primary School in 2015 at Kokstad and completed his Matriculant at Carl Malcomess High School in 2020 and took a pause at Mangosuthu University of Technology under Public management curse in 2023.
He started his music career of Hip Hop when he was just 12 years old in 2012 with a small crew of boys that was called “Crazy Boys”, doing Kasi Rap music. He was inspired and motivated by his older brother to do “Kasi rap” music because he had realised that there is some rap talent in him (Year 2000 khanya) and he was creative and able to sing vocals on choruses. He proceeded with the Kasi rap hip hop genre until 2015, when he decided to do commercial music and record on good quality studios. Since 2015, he has never stopped making music .
His vision and goals about music are to change people’s lives with his music, especially young people across the world, and give the universe a versatile style of music. The latest release music under his belt the "TAKE ME THERE THE LAST" ALBUM 🚨
